About our intern program:
Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Interns are treated as valuable team members while learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative, fun and dynamic environment. Baird's summer intern program activities include an Intern Welcome Event, professional development, networking with leaders and associates, and many other informal events. Our interns have the opportunity to use a Baird Cares Day, a paid day to volunteer in the community. They are also eligible to apply for scholarships. Team Overview:
Baird's Operations Department ("Ops") is the best kept secret in the financial services industry and plays a critical role to the success and growth or the firm. We partner with the different business and functions within Baird with the goal of driving efficiencies and reducing risk to the firm. We have numerous year-round internship opportunities across our Capital Markets Operations, Client Accounting Support, Client Reporting and Product Support teams.
Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are currently accepting applications for year-round internships that start in May 2022.
As an Operations Intern, you will:
- Influence and lead change to improve firmwide processes
- Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Collaborate across the firm to help ensure highly efficient customer service
- Receive firsthand mentoring and training
What we look for:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Information Technology Management or related business degree
- Anticipated graduation date of May 2023 or later
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage priorities to meet specific deadlines
- Strong client service critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
