Infoscitex, a DCS Company, is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to support extensive high visibility Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) efforts. As a member of our team, you will support aerospace and defense technologies along with research and development in St Louis, MO, having opportunities to work in a dynamic environment, with state of the art simulation technologies, simulation integration experts, and military Subject Matter Experts (SME). Our work focuses on the integration of multiple software additions and enhancements to an existing modeling and simulation framework and may include both stand-alone constructive and distributed virtual simulation development efforts. You will conduct research and development work including developing software requirements and hands-on software development according to customer specifications, system requirements, and software best practices.

Essential Job Functions:

As this Software Engineer Intern, you could expect to:

Participate within a software development team performing all aspects of the agile software development life cycle in a DevSecOps environment.

Work closely with customers, such as pilots and technologists, and fellow agile software development team members to build and enhance modeling and simulation solutions.

Apply software best practices (agile, version control, quality, etc.) for all developed and modified software.

Requirements:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least a partial completion of a BS degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical discipline. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity. Candidates with advanced degrees or varying experience may be considered for alternative classification).

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.

Proficiency developing object-oriented software in C++ with either Microsoft Visual Studio compilers on Windows or GCC compilers on Linux.

Ability to work well in team environments.

Ability to travel, as required.

An ideal candidate may bring the following attributes, although these are not firm requirements for consideration:

Experience with any of the following software development tech stack items: git, CMake, python, GTest, Fortify, Valgrind, Jenkins, docker, kubernetes, and amazon web services.

Experience with UI development with Qt, Open GL, or Open Scene Graph (OSG).

Experience with any LINUX OS.

Experience developing with Java, C#, C, or FORTRAN.

Knowledge and experience with modeling, simulation, & analysis environments (live, virtual, and constructive) and/or concepts.

Domain knowledge related to aerospace systems, sensors, tracking, fusion, communications, command and control, cyber, or electronic warfare.
