POSITION SUMMARY:

The Security Operations Intern reports to the VP of Security Engineering and Operations Director and will work 40 hrs/wk for a duration of 6-12 weeks. The position is remote. The Internship will start mid-June 2022.

The Security Operations Intern will work with the Security Engineering team and other IT groups to assist with the implementation, support, and enhancements of Security technologies at Steward. The goal of the position is to acquire practical skills necessary to succeed in the Information Security field. Through critical inquiry and hands-on experience, the intern will gain understanding on how the various processes, technologies, and services work together to secure information assets at Steward. The intern will provide feedback on their experience with the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Document workflow processes• Create workflow diagrams• Automate repeatable tasks and processes• Provide analysis and trending of security log data from various security devices• Integrate and share information with other analysts and teams• Monitor end-point client configurations to verify compliance with security standards based on Information Security policies• Promote activities to foster Information Security awareness within Steward Health Care.• Demonstrates a high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to take direction and feedback• Ability to effectively adapt to new challenges with enthusiasm• Solid organization skills• Ability to present and discuss information and status of workload• Proficient in one or more programming languages.• Experience working with API's, preferably RESTFUL API.• Familiarity working with cloud services, preferably Azure.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:
I. Education: Currently enrolled in a college level program
II. Experience (Type & Length): working in a business setting preferred
