An Equipment Engineer in the Technology Development Scanner Engineering team at Micron Technology enables our development of tomorrow's memory and storage technology! We develop groundbreaking semiconductor processing hardware - both internally with process engineering and externally with vendors - to enable novel process technology. We redefine what is possible within our R&D facilities! Are you ready for your next challenge?
Success is derived through partnership with the process development team and effective project management of vendor resources to achieve process technology and efficiency benchmarks. As Equipment Development Engineers we use creative experimental techniques and have access to a full suite of semiconductor analytics lab equipment to solve outstanding technical challenges.
This position is located at our Pilot Fab in Boise, ID.
Equipment Engineering
- Work with the TD scanner team on software/hardware projects that drive improvements required for our roadmap.
- Interact with vendors and TD engineers in other areas to develop and improve equipment performance not only for F4, but for HVM applications as well
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects including, but not limited to, coordination, installation, maintenance, documentation, modification, and over all support of equipment projects
Additional areas of focus:
- Tool Matching / Reticle Modification
- Imaging Stability and defectivity monitoring
- Reticle / Mirror Heating / Wafer Heating analysis / pod contamination
- Backside wafer contamination and films engineering monitoring/investigations
R&D Area Objectives
- Develop expert subject area knowledge with your projects to resolve issues and solve highly complex problems
- Contributes to ongoing assigned projects, works with process development engineers on issues and projects, crafts strategic decisions
- Summarize plans, progress to existing experimental work, and concluded work in the form of written reports
Self-Development and mentoring
- Engage the vendors as well as TD engineers for information to improve your knowledge of the equipment
Safety
- Identify and promptly report hazards
- Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturers and company guidelines
- Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner
- Maintain safety certifications in TRAIN
