The Role: Innovation Intern

Have you ever wondered what it was like to work at Facebook during the early days, or Airbnb when they were eating Obama O’s and sleeping on mattresses in random strangers' empty apartments? You now have the chance to work directly on the Innovation team. 

In addition to non-stop learning and the opportunity to innovate and execute new ideas, you will be working with the smartest and coolest people you’ll ever meet! Including a rare opportunity to work directly with 3 of the original 5 founders of a startup in the home services space that powers billions of dollars of GMV. This is a real-world, start up experience you won’t get anywhere else - a great resume builder and primer to a fast paced dynamic startup world.

The Innovation team strives in coming up with ideas, but also taking them directly from concept to functioning in the real world - no theory here. This is the core of zero to one mindset that excites you every day - in our world, anything is possible. You will be an integral part of the innovation team, and collaborate closely with the marketing, sales, community, and engineering teams to work on high-impact strategic and operational projects.

Responsibilities: 

  • Help build high value initiatives for current customers, prospects and lead generation 
  • Help manage the trade school scholarship program
  • Work with trade schools, high schools, influencers and Pros - outbound outreach and relationship management
  • Work on back end operations and customer/partner facing tasks on existing and new innovation team projects
  • Help manage the trade school scholarship program
  • Create strong social media content (specifically TikToks), blog content and downloadable resources
  • Participate in community engagement in owned and external communities
  • Catalog existing content and turn into evergreen content
  • Build landing pages and get backlinks to boost SEO
  • Whatever exciting new stuff we come up with along the way… and trust us, there will be a lot

Minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to work 8a-5p PST, Monday-Friday, starting immediately. Goal is to promote to permanent Associate position, pending performance and business needs.
  • Must be self-motivated, passionate, coachable, relentlessly resourceful, resilient, and able to multitask and execute
  • Creative, strategic, and technical skills - the more variety the better
  • Ability to handle customer relationship management, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A naturally curious, driven and dynamic team player with “hunter” mentality 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • HTML/CSS and/or graphic design proficiency is preferred 
  • Highly desired: If you’ve built or started your own company before, and were more excited and fulfilled by that over school work, you’re in the right place.
