IFC is seeking a Summer Advisory Operations Associate in the Operations Management Department (COM) as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The GIP offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC's work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the GIP provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.
The Internship period will be between May - September.
Duties and Accountabilities
• Support for the IFC-managed Facility for Investment Climate Advisory Services (FIAS), one of the World Bank Group's largest and oldest multi-donor trust funds. Compile results data from IFC Advisory Services teams for reporting to donor countries and institutions.
• Support for the Multi-Country Investment Climate Program Phase 2 (MCICP II), a donor-funded program supporting selected IFC Advisory Services projects primarily funded by Switzerland's SECO.
• As this program will be launching in spring 2022; support is needed to track approvals, allocations, and launch of new MCICP-supported projects, organization of project portfolio, donor reporting, etc.
Selection Criteria
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Masters' degree level program with expected graduation dateafter December 1st, 2022in order to be eligible. • Field of study in Economics, International Development, or other relevant discipline. • At least 3 years of relevant work experience. • Strong writing skills in English, French is a plus but not required. • Strong skills with databases in general and Microsoft Excel in particular; • Strong presentational skills in Microsoft Powerpoint and similar applications.
