The Global Trade Intern will support the Enterprise Operations (EO) organization, and will be located in Charlotte, North Carolina or remote. As part of the EO Global Trade team, the Global Trade Intern will support ensuring regulatory compliance with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and other global regulations that govern requirements for our U.S. and international sites.

During the 2023 summer internship, the Global Trade Intern will be assigned tactical work and project deliverables. The successful candidate will participate in multi-discipline teams supporting the Enterprise Operations Global Trade organization. Projects in the areas of Sanctions and Embargos, Authorizations and Licenses, portfolio support, Digital Technology, Investigations and Disclosures and Program Management will be determined and assigned based on the interests of the Intern and the needs of the business. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding activities designed to introduce you to our people, processes, and tools
  • Challenging, unique assignments within the Enterprise Operations Global Trade organization
  • Assigned peer mentor
  • On the job training on Global Trade policies and procedures
  • Evaluation periods with internship supervisor
  • Final report-out presentation to leadership team


Depending on the individual's area of interest and experience, and the needs of the business, responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting implementation of processes, work instructions and business activities to ensure Global Trade compliance by internal customers, including our Manufacturing Centers of Excellence, Supply Chain, Enterprise Quality and Operations Modernization
  • Analyzing business needs with respect to export authorization requirements
  • Supporting investigations and reviews of possible export and import compliance violations
  • Supporting digital technology projects involving Global Trade touchpoints
  • Supporting projects involving Sanctions, Embargoes, Licensing and Authorizations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder


Desired Skills:

  • Desire to learn about diverse aspects of Global Trade compliance
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into meaningful analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office tools
