About the Program: 

Wing is hosting a 12 week paid internship during the summer of 2022. It will be an in person internship based in Palo Alto, CA. Start dates will be in May or June. We will review applications and interview candidates on a rolling basis. 

About the Opportunity:

We have software engineering internship opportunities across teams developing the next-generation of unmanned technology.  In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of electrical, mechanical, perception and control engineers.   

Embedded - The Embedded team within the Electrical Engineering group works closely with the EEs and other software teams to ensure hardware components are correctly configured and easily accessible by upper layers of the software. Candidates will be a good fit for this team if they have experience with any of the following:

• Classes and labs in computer architecture/organization, embedded systems & digital logic
• Projects using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Robotics
• Linux kernel/device driver development

Guidance, Navigation, and Control - This team builds the autopilot software which enables the aircraft to sense, reason, and actuate its way through the world. Candidates will be a good fit for this team if they have experience with any of the following:

• Probability, navigation, and state estimation
• Computer vision and machine learning
• Analysis, prototyping, and final implementation of algorithms

Simulation - Simulation enables testing of systems in scenarios and at scales impossible in real world flight testing. Our tools provide rapid feedback for R&D and are critical for ensuring the safety of our fleet of autonomous aircraft. Candidates will be a good fit for this team if they have experience with any of the following:

• Aerodynamics or robotics modeling
• Complex engineering problems from a system-level perspective
• Data analysis and SQL

What You’ll Need: 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2022 and August 2023
• Experience with at least one of the following: C, C++, Python or Matlab
• Strong examples of previous engineering experience from past internships and/or extracurricular projects
