Ready to challenge yourself to dive deep and think big? Ookla, the company behind Speedtest and Downdetector, is a team of passionate individuals who have turned clever ideas into unique products and a thriving business. Globally, millions of tests are performed every day across the Speedtest ecosystem on the web, desktop and mobile apps, embedded in routers and deployed in thousands of servers — and millions of service issues are reported to Downdetector each month. With all that usage comes countless ways to dissect and analyze our data, and plenty of exciting opportunities to optimize our monetization strategy. It also gives us the ability to help make the internet better, faster and more accessible for everyone. If you crave the chance to do your best work in a flexible work environment where we value individuality and fun as much as we value talent, we want to hear from you.

Ookla is looking for a full or part time Enterprise Marketing Intern to support the tactical execution of projects essential to the marketing team’s goals and objectives.

This role is ideal for an individual who is looking to grow their marketing skills in a challenging, dynamic work environment with the mentorship of a cross-functional team. Candidates should be eager to get involved in a wide variety of B2B marketing areas, pitching in wherever the need is greatest while also gaining valuable exposure to broader strategic initiatives. Flexibility is important, as the role’s responsibilities will likely change from week to week depending on current departmental focus areas.

Expectations for Success:

  • Contribute to the successful execution of cross-channel campaigns using email, marketing automation, content, ads and social media
  • Create materials and represent topics around data, technical product information, and telecom industry focus areas
  • Write and copy-edit sections of articles, reports, sales collateral, and other external-facing materials
  • Measure and report on key metrics related to project progress and success

Requirements

The heading says “requirements” but we’re looking for the right person, not the exact list. If your life experience prepares you for similar challenges, we’d like to hear from you.

  • Prior internship experience or strong course work in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Familiarity with general marketing principles and the digital marketing landscape
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues and collaborate with key stakeholders from Product and Sales
  • Energized by a fast-paced environment where project priorities and key messages change frequently
  • Commitment to proactively fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment for all people
  • Experience in the internet or telecommunications industry not required, but a plus
  • Experience working in B2B tech marketing or an equivalent environment not required, but a plus

Benefits

Benefits will be given if the internship goes beyond 90 days

Location

While our preference is to have this person located near our Seattle office (we are still all remote), we are also open to having this position be remote elsewhere in the US except for within the state of Colorado. If you are working remotely occasional visits to our Seattle, USA headquarters or Memphis office will be expected (when it is safe to travel).
