Job Summary:
In a career as an Employee Communications & Events Intern, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region.The Employee Communications and Events Intern assists with internal/employee communications and events, including hands-on writing and editing, and preparing and executing employee events.
Schedule: Part-time
Responsibilities:

  • Assists with internal communications and events.
    • Partners with Employee Communications and Events team to draft internal communications.
    • Assists in seeking out stories that highlights Boys Town's mission.
    • Assists in creating and posting social media posts, announcements and/or stories on intranet site.
    • Provides support in the planning and execution of employee events.
    • Provides other departmental assistance as needed.
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out the Father Flanagans Boys Home mission.
    • Directs all activities towards the fulfillment of the Boys Town mission
    • Directs all actions to reflect the values and principles of Boys Town
    • Establishes and maintains an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior
    • Maintains regular, reliable and predictable attendance
    • Supports other members of the management team and their work
  • Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However, other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and Word; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • College student or recent college graduate, preferably majoring in communications, organizational communication, or similar field.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:
Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Handling of average weight objects up to 20lbs, or standing and/or walking or at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically in a normal office administrative environment involving minimal exposure to physical risks.
