Diversity Equity & Inclusion Undergrad Intern
What you will do
The internship will focus on Diversity and Inclusion and will support the North America field business as well as the enterprise. Johnson Controls is re-imagining our approach to Diversity & Inclusion with new investments and renewed commitment from our most senior executives. This internship will focus on three major projects in support of our D&I commitment. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below. #internships
How you will do it:
- To achieve our goals and objectives, we need to build strong pipeline of diverse talent. The intern will work with the North America HR team and the enterprise D&I team to develop strategies, programs, and initiatives to improve our diversity pipeline for key roles.
- The intern will build relationships with local partners of key external organizations such as Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Inroads, etc., to build the Johnson Controls brand and facilitate long-term pipeline development of diverse talent for the company. For this part of the internship, the intern will work closely with the enterprise D&I team, the enterprise talent acquisition team and the North America HR team.
- The intern will work with the enterprise D&I team and talent acquisition team on a branded Johnson Controls intern program helping to build out a world class program to attract strong, diverse talent to the company.
- The intern will work with our enterprise talent acquisition team to think through how we re-brand Johnson Controls in the market to attract strong talent, evaluating our results on platforms such as Indeed or Glassdoor to determine root cause challenges to attraction and develop strategies to address.
- The intern will work with our Enterprise D&I team to evaluate the Inclusion Index for Johnson Controls. This work will determine our inclusion index score, research and review analytics and ways to drive significant improvement of the score and based on the score determine recommendations for what should be considered to improve the score.
What we look for
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited university or college pursuing a degree related to Human Resources.
- U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
- Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software, with experience in data entry
- Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities
- Effective and professional communication and organization skills
