Linode is looking for a DevOps Intern to join the Product Development team. As a junior member of our team, your primary responsibilities will include supporting your peers in maintaining our product infrastructure and improving automation to deliver services to our customers. You’ll be trained by seasoned DevOps engineers on systems administration and best practices. As a DevOps Intern in Product Development, you'll have an opportunity to get your hands dirty at all levels of our stack. You’ll help maintain core Internet infrastructure for a cloud computing provider across globally distributed facilities.

Technologies

You don't have to have experience with all of these, but you should have experience with some of them and an interest to learn others:

  • Python, Bash
  • SaltStack, Terraform
  • Docker containers
  • Linux systems

Expectations

  • Knowledge of Linux systems
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch
  • Experience with the Hashicorp stack, e.g. Vault, Consul, Terraform, Nomad
  • Experience with credential management systems

Work With Us

  • This is a fully remote position. You will be participating in projects, meetings, and company activities from home, using a provided laptop and VPN.
  • We are offering a competitive hourly rate of $25 to $35 per hour.
