The Red Hat Americas Business Finance team is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to support ongoing data analysis and visualization projects. In this role, you will work closely with finance, sales, and sales operations to develop and deliver data analysis, dashboards, and key insights. You'll need to have solid analytical, presentation, and communication skills. To succeed in this role, you'll need to have functional or educational experience in the area of finance and analytics in addition to project experience in data storytelling and visualization best practices. Technical skills you should bring include basic ETL, data cleansing, and proficiency in visualization design tools like Tableau.
What you will do

• Work with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize development of data sets
• Work with data engineers to understand data architecture and best practices for consumption
• Design attractive and impactful visualizations that efficiently enable decision making
• Perform data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Partner with data engineering and IT to increase scalability of organizational and enterprise ready data models as needed
• Support the building, management, and governance of a organizational data warehouse
• Partner with peer data visualization experts to share best practices and increase consistency in approach across the enterprise

What you will bring

1. Degree in data science, computer science, statistics, financial Mathematics, or other quantitative disciplines
2. Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Quicksight, or other data visualization platforms
3. Familiarity with basic ETL processes and programming languages including SQL, Python, or R as well as solid understanding of data architecture best practices
4. Passionate about telling data stories through visualization and dashboards
5. Ability to work full-time May-August
6. Currently pursuing a degree; if you have graduated, be no more than 6 months past your graduation date at the start of the internship
