The Red Hat North America Public Sector (NAPS) SI Alliance Business Development (BD) team is looking for a highly motivated Business Development Intern who wants to gain practical experience with open source and Red Hat's offerings during an internship with our team in Tysons Corner, VA. What you will do

  • Engage with the strategic capture business development managers to understand the portfolio of programs each is developing
  • Record these programs in a shared Google Sheet in the NAPS BD Google Drive
  • Collaborate with the systems integrator (SI) alliance business development managers to ascertain the pursuit status of the major SI partners involved
  • Work with sales operations personnel to create opportunities in Salesforce.com (SFDC)
  • Create hyperlinks to external resources for background or relevant information
  • Participate in Business Development team meetings
  • Participate in quarterly business review (QBR) meetings
  • Update program status based on feedback from business development managers


What you will bring

  • Ability to work full-time May-August
  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, computer science, marketing, or a related field; if you have graduated, be no more than 6 months past your graduation date
  • Knowledge of the Google Suite and Salesforce.com (SFDC)
  • Previous experience creating and editing spreadsheets, documents, and presentations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills


The following are considered a plus:

  • Previous business development experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for open source and working collaboratively
