About the job
The Red Hat Digital Communities team is looking for an Analytics Intern with solid interpretive and communication skills to join our team this summer. In this role, you will work closely with our personal aligned community sites team to identify new reporting opportunities and optimize existing practices using a variety of web and business data inputs. This is a great opportunity to expand on your quantitative analysis skills, hone your presentation skills, demonstrate analytical prowess, and assist with developing actionable insights through working on impactful projects for multiple large web properties.
As an Analyst Intern, your key objective will be to provide actionable, data-driven recommendations for the Digital Community ecosystem, which include Enable Sysadmin, (redhat.com/sysadmin), Enable Architect (redhat.com/architect), The Enterprisers Project (enterprisersproject.com), Opensource.com, and more. This role is designed to familiarize you with modern marketing practices, advanced web analytics, and data storytelling opportunities.
What you will do

  • Translate abstract data into a highly-visual and easily-digestible formats
  • Collect and analyze key metrics through manual and automated data collection methods
  • Develop ad hoc reports by analyzing large sets of data from multiple sources and databases
  • Assist with the development of automated dashboards for various stakeholders
  • Assist with the maintenance and management of website tracking implementation
  • Help investigate new tools and technologies for data collection and visualization

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with visual storytelling through data visualization
  • Familiarity with web and SEO analytics tools
  • Experience with R, Python, or another statistical modeling package
  • Experience with dashboard tools like Tableau
