A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is seeking an Accounting Intern who will support the day-to-day activities of the Shared Services Accounting department. They will contribute to the business, will lead and own certain accounting deliverables and be assigned to specific, meaningful projects throughout the duration of the internship.

Valmont's internship program mission is to provide a hands-on learning experience through project work, leadership development, job shadowing and interaction with senior leadership.

Essential Functions:

• Assisting with data entry into accounting spreadsheets and ERP system
• Auditing accounting documents for accuracy
• Helping with month-end closing activities
• Assisting with preparation of account reconciliations
• Assisting with the preparation of ad hoc and internal reporting
• Flexible, hybrid schedule however must be able to work in the office 2-3 days per week
• Supporting special projects

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Bachelor's Degree or progress towards Bachelor's Degree with an anticipated graduation within 12 months (Senior status)
• Concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Finance or related field
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, PowerBI Excel, Word and Outlook)
• High attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and think critically
• Demonstrates understanding of and alignment to our core values of: integrity, continuous improvement, passion and delivering results

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

• Experience working with an ERP system
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Actively pursuing an MBA, Graduate degree in a finance-related field and/or advanced analytics degree a plus
• Previous work experience in accounting or finance
• Proficiency with PowerBI or other specific data tools
