About the job
The Red Hat Acceleration and Strategy team, which ensures connection and alignment across the diverse portfolio and teams of the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team, is looking for a highly collaborative Acceleration and Strategy Intern to join us remotely in the Eastern Time Zone. In this role, you will help the team surface the right information at the right time and with the right context to guide continuous improvement across people, process, and technology. You will identify and address opportunities and gaps in our people processes to accelerate our ability to deliver business value. You'll get a chance to use an open design approach, research and apply insights for concept development, plan for sustaining efforts through enablement and EDA associate engagement, and define ways to measure the impact of each part of our people performance program. As an Acceleration and Strategy Intern, you will partner with our assigned EDA HR representatives and with leadership stakeholders to plan an overall program that is in alignment with other EDA strategies, programs, and processes. You'll report directly to the director of acceleration and strategy with a matrixed reporting relationship to the manager of communications and change.
Red Hat's EDA team seeks customer-focused innovators who also value rapid delivery. We believe in collaboration, transparency, built-in quality, minimal viable products (MVPs), and simplicity as a remedy for complexity. We look for people who apply critical thinking and welcome creative solutions. We challenge ourselves to modernize while at the same time building exceptional customer experiences with our offerings and services. We aren't afraid to fail for the right reasons, but we never give up trying to exceed expectations. If you want to help build a community of innovation dedicated to excellence, then join us on our journey as part of an outstanding open source enterprise data and analytics team.
What you will do

  • Assess and make recommendations to leadership for several components of the talent management life cycle in areas like hiring, onboarding, objective setting, learning and development planning, use of feedback methods, recognition, and integration of our enterprise competency framework
  • Understand the challenges and needs of stakeholder audiences for effective program development and ongoing program management
  • Use comprehensive business requirements and HR industry and technology trends to create solutions
  • Integrate sometimes siloed talent efforts, initiatives, data, and communications to organize components in a meaningful, consumable way for EDA teams
  • Recommend success measures for each component, like how to measure the impact and gathering of stakeholder feedback
  • Provide program briefings to the EDA leadership team

What you will bring

  • Familiarity with some components of the talent management life cycle in an organization
  • Solid ability to write and edit content, synthesizing and highlighting the main points
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate working as a team and lead through inspiration and persuasion
  • Ability to handle many competing priorities and deadlines with sustained energy and focus
  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain credibility with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and functions
  • Pursuing a master's degree in communications, HR, organizational or industrial psychology, or a related field, or a combination of real word experience and pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field

The following are considered a plus:

  • Familiarity with one or more areas of practice like process improvement, project management, design thinking, or change management
  • Familiarity with methodologies for setting strategic or tactical direction
  • Workforce planning experience
  • We are technology enthusiasts, so understanding of how technology, e.g., data visualization tools, survey tools or web designs, etc., plays a role in simplifying and sharing talent processes
