About the Innovation Team

The Innovation Team identifies, designs, prototypes, and implements strategic initiatives across AMBSE to elevate the guest experience, drive enterprise-wide efficiencies, strengthen the associate journey, optimize human capital through smarter workflows and automation, and deliver measurable value to the bottom line.

Operating as a lean, high-performing group, the team partners closely with Fan Experience, Technology, and Stadium Operations leaders to move ideas from concept to production—measuring real-world impact at scale within a live sports and entertainment environment.

Position Summary

The Innovation Technologist is a core member of AMBSE’s Innovation Team, responsible for the technical discovery, evaluation, and deployment of advanced fan-facing and operational technologies.

This role serves as the technical lead during innovation initiatives, ensuring ideas are translated into scalable, secure, and production-ready solutions. The Innovation Technologist operates within a structured innovation framework, partnering closely with Product, Fan Experience, and Business leaders to advance initiatives through defined phases rather than pursuing independent solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of technology, a genuine passion for innovation, a bias toward action, and a strong sense of ownership for moving work forward.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation Discovery & Solution Design

  • In collaboration with the Innovation and Fan Experience teams, help identify and vet opportunities to enhance fan experience, venue operations, revenue, and human capital efficiency through emerging technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies to support ideation and solution design for fan-facing and operational initiatives.
  • Clearly define and document technical requirements, solution architectures, testing plans, and implementation roadmaps in partnership with the Product Owner.
  • Apply a user-centered, iterative approach to problem solving, incorporating rapid prototyping, testing, and feedback to inform solution design.
  • Identify opportunities where technology can reduce manual effort, streamline workflows, and enable teams to focus on higher-value work across the organization.
  • Proactively surface risks, dependencies, and decisions needed to maintain momentum and meet timelines.

Technology Deployment & Integration

  • Serve as the technical owner for Innovation initiatives from proof-of-concept through deployment.
  • Support delivery of fan-facing technologies, including frictionless entry, biometric authentication, contactless payments, mobile integrations, and experiential technology pilots.
  • Partner with IT and Data teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready within enterprise systems.
  • Support on-site testing, deployment, and troubleshooting during live events to ensure solutions perform under real-world conditions.
  • Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to align technical decisions with operational realities, timelines, and guest impact.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Source, evaluate, and manage technology vendors in partnership with the Product Manager.
  • Coordinate multi-vendor implementations and integrations across infrastructure, applications, and business systems.

Innovation Operations & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Act as a reliable, solutions-oriented teammate who contributes positively to team culture and shared success.
  • Present technical findings, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to long-term technology strategy aligned with AMBSE business priorities and innovation roadmap.
  • Ensure technical ideas, enhancements, and opportunities are introduced through the Innovation intake process and evaluated in alignment with broader business priorities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience evaluating, adapting, and integrating new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of emerging consumer technologies (mobile, biometrics, digital identity, payments, experiential technology) and enterprise IT systems.
  • Working knowledge of API integrations, data flows, and front-end-to-back-end system interactions.
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with vendors, technical teams, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language for executive, operational, and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive work forward in ambiguous environments.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, live-event environments.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and event days as required.
  • Willingness to operate within stadium and operational environments during live events and technology deployments.
  • Willingness to take on other duties as assigned.

Preferred

  • Experience partnering with external developers and engineering teams to design and deliver custom applications, including web, mobile, and kiosk-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end application architectures across web and mobile experiences (e.g., React-based frameworks).
  • Foundational understanding of back-end databases and data structures (e.g., SQL-based systems) to support application design, reporting, and integrations.

Why Join AMBSE

If you are a technology-driven innovator who thrives in fast-paced environments, values strong teamwork, and takes pride in moving work forward, this role offers a unique opportunity to design and deploy industry-leading experiences—while making a meaningful impact on how people work every day.
