The IFS department is responsible for the financial reporting systems and processes that support total company

reporting. This position helps to ensure that the Company’s general ledger and financial reporting tools are

reliable, accessible and stable, that structures appropriately reflect business requirements, and that controls are

in place to support the end-to-end process for all IFS applications.

The incumbent will be part of the Financial / Treasury Processes team working on projects involving new or

existing applications and processes, providing steady state support, as well as assisting on on-going

operations. It will be their responsibility to provide leadership and support to the IFS Finance infrastructure

users, spread across the multiple jurisdictions in which Manulife Financial carries on business.

Position Responsibilities:

• Part of team leading and supporting transformational initiatives involving Finance and /or Treasury cash functions.
• Lead and support Finance / Treasury systems initiatives, find opportunities for improvement, proactive plan and execute enhancements and provide guidance to the team.
• Lead vendor/in-house application deployment, onboarding of business processes to ERP, enhancements, steady state support, troubleshooting problems
• Identifying opportunities for increased effectiveness or efficiency in Financial and Treasury processes.
• Define and refine requirements /specifications, data transformation, process re-engineering, automation, configurations, support functional and integration testing, implementation and production support.
• Closely work with the IT teams to explain and clarify the technical specifications and rationale in order to help create solutions that would meet business needs.
• Proactively identify opportunities, lead planning and execution of process improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively to all levels of the management to report project status and critical issues requiring their attention.
• Create and maintain thorough and accurate project documentation (including functional and technical design specifications) according to the project management methodologies.
• Lead testing by preparing required test plans/matrices and executing functional and system integration testing of the application.
• Project manage small to medium initiatives (as required) according to the established project management methodologies.
• Foster tech savvy culture that strives for continuous improvement.
• Support development of strong team by providing coaching and guidance to team members

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in leadership role supporting business systems analysis function involving process re-engineering, transformation, and automation.
• Hands-on experience in working with IT teams for developing system solutions.
• Capability to independently learn new systems / technology.
• Exceptional analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with citizen developer tools like Power Apps, Power BI, or Alteryx is a plus

• Aptitude to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple tasks and manage ambiguity
• Strong organizational skills (ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks with competing priorities)

• Comfortable analyzing and organizing large volumes of data
