Job Description
We are looking for a colleague who would join our Ignitis Renewables Latvia’s team and support the Engineering Department in the onshore - Automation engineer with wider knowledge (including automation controllers, relay protection, IT network devices, a bit of communication protocols, a bit of control systems and local legislation knowledge). You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Managing and supervising the implementation of electrical equipment in substations and renewable power plants
- Overseeing the installation and operation of relay protection and automation devices, PLCs, RTUs, transducers, and IT network devices
- Evaluating and ensuring grid connection compliance
- Preparing design tasks and technical requirements for owner’s equipment and systems
- Reviewing and approving technical specifications, design solutions, and contractor equipment
- Approving factory drawings, testing procedures, and detailed design schematics
- Supervising factory acceptance tests, installation, and pre-commissioning
- Overseeing site acceptance and grid code tests
- Approving As-Built documentation, including test reports and operation manuals.
Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree in electrical or Automation Engineering
- Experience in electrical engineering and automation, particularly in power plants, substations, and distribution/transmission networks
- Basic knowledge of relay protection devices and communication protocols
- Experience in design or testing or planning, and maintenance of electrical systems, SCADA systems and IT network devices
- Knowledge of control system engineering, including data acquisition, communication protocols, and supervisory systems
- Experience in communication with transmission system operator and/or distribution system operator in regards of relay protection and automation implementation.
Would Be an Advantage:
- Experience with renewable energy systems (e.g., wind or solar engineering, energy storage)
- Proficiency in relay protection and automation, including experience with controllers (PLC, RTU) and transducers.
