Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance to the Magna Employee's Charter. Protects the interests of the employees and the Company in accordance with Company policies, Employee's Charter Principles and applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Develops, maintains, and continuously improves the effectiveness of Human Resource programs, policies and procedures, employee relations, staffing/retention/motivation, employee orientation, training and development, communications, organizational development and change, and succession planning
- Oversees the recruitment and training and development programs, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Facilitates the implementation, adoption, and use of the Company's HRIS
- Manages salary and benefit administration ensuring all plans are competitive and equitable.
- Formulates and recommends personnel policies and practices. Directs the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, and practices. Conducts regular reviews of all personnel policies, programs, and practices to keep Company abreast of current practices and informed of new developments and pending and new laws and regulations.
- Counsels' management in matters of employee development, performance management, and corrective action.
- Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of information as required by law or other departments in the organization. Maintains record keeping practices as appropriate and related to topics such as salary and benefit plan administration, personnel transactions, and employee statistics. Ensures the proper maintenance of employment files.
- Leads immigration and global mobility matters in conjunction with Corporate Immigration and Global Mobility
- Trains managers in Magna HR Programs, progressive discipline, conducting performance reviews, etc.
- Manages Employee Opinion Survey Action Plan development/focus group activities that support continuous improvement of employee experience
- Presents updates at quarterly group meetings / department meetings as required
- Conducts all responsibilities in a professional and confidential manner with neutrality and fairness
- Acts as an avenue in the Open-Door Process
- Supports various employee engagement committees (Magna in Action, Magna Employee Engagement Committee, Wellness Committee, Safety Committee)
- Makes recommendations regarding charitable contributions that align with the company's values and culture
- Manages short term and long-term disability claims
- Plans, leads, and presents HR updates to employees at employee meetings
- Leads COVID-19 response including ensuring that policies are aligned with Magna's Playbook, issuing employee communications, and managing employee relations
- Takes on any special projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years' of Human Resources work-related experience preferably in a automotive/technology/manufacturing environment
- Minimum of two (2) years project or people management
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in Human Resources or related filed
- Some experience with Workday, SuccessFactors, and ADP E-Time preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Professional in Human Resource certification (PHR) or Senior Professional (SPHR) is an asset
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft)
- Excellent communication and writing skills required
