Overview
The Group Manager, Training is responsible for planning, designing and executing the talent management strategies for the mortgage operations teams to support operational effectiveness. This includes responsibility for employee development programs, team effectiveness, performance enhancement, skill/competency development and employee engagement activities.
Job Description

  • Works in conjunction with divisional leadership to develop vision, strategic direction, objectives, and business plans to support the division's training and development and employee engagement priorities.
  • Oversees the planning and execution of all talent management activities for mortgage operations, ensuring that appropriate levels of staffing, training, technology, and other resources are available to achieve the division's objectives within budgeted parameters.
  • Oversees division-wide and individual learning initiatives and delegates responsibilities appropriately to subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Collaborates with other management to continually monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to achieve business results.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal business partners and external resources
  • Forms collaborative relationships with Human Resources leaders and business partners in order to execute talent strategies and efforts to support the growth/strategic objectives of the company.
  • Identifies and analyzes organization and employee effectiveness and productivity results and presents to executive management.
  • Exemplifies and drives business unit recognition and culture activities to inspire employee initiative, performance, and an inclusive, cooperative work environment.
  • Oversees all people management activities to ensure hiring, motivation, training, coaching and counseling, and terminations are conducted appropriately.
  • Interfaces across departments and/or divisions to accomplish cross functional projects and activities.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Demonstrates behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values.

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Financial Services and/or mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of talent development strategies and learning technologies
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans
  • Team player with strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently
  • Competent at working in partnership with team members to deliver expected results
  • Results oriented and performance management focused
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to execute formalized reporting and analysis on business results
  • Proven track record at delivering timely results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving with sound judgment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
  • Strong collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven people management skills
