Amplify's Human Resources team is looking for a Vice President, Total Rewards and Operations with Workday experience, to lead Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations in a growth-oriented organization. The Vice President, reporting to the head of HR will direct execution of the Total Rewards and HR Operations strategy, focusing on compensation, benefits, HR data and analytics, policy, and management of the key operational needs of the HR organization, including continuous improvement.

This highly visible role will collaborate with HR Business Partners, the Recruiting team, Payroll, Finance, and Executive Leadership to implement, improve, modify and support Total Rewards programs and Operational processes.
You are excited about this opportunity because...

  • You will shape and define both the overall Total Rewards and HR Ops team strategy and associated operating models, which will initially include but is not limited to: Total Rewards, Compliance, Immigration, Contingent Workforce Management, Onboarding, Offboarding, HR Service Desk, Data and Analytics, and HR Technology.
  • You will develop, guide, and implement our company-wide compensation strategy and programs to support the changing needs of Amplify employees, aligned to our Total Rewards philosophy including; designing and leading the administration of global compensation (general & executive), broad-based, and incentive compensation plans in collaboration with the head of HR and other key partners, leading the annual administration process for compensation: merit, annual incentive, annual equity grants, etc.
  • You will lead, manage and evaluate the implementation and oversight of benefits plan design, policies, processes, and compliance, ensuring a compelling, and innovative benefits package that meets the needs of Amplify employees while supporting Amplify's position as the best place to work in Ed Tech.
  • You will drive significant design efforts with tax/finance/legal partners, including development of salary structures, annual incentive plan design and realignment, equity standards, executive compensation, benefits, and establishment of relevant and applicable practices and policies for a distributed workforce.
  • You will lead research of best practices, assessing global developments, evaluating emerging trends, staying apprised of technological advancements, and conducting benchmark comparisons by partnering with internal and external specialists.
  • You will lead a small team, within a thriving company - with the opportunity to build for scale. This role will lead staff specializing in HR Operations, HRIS & Analytics, and Total Rewards. Given our rapid growth, you will have the opportunity to shape the teams' staffing and hiring strategy. You will mentor, coach, and inspire existing talent capability and create opportunities for career development and mobility.
  • You will drive process design and implementation - You will design and implement low defect-rate, technology-enabled HR Operational processes that drive efficiency for the HR team as well as Amplify employees. You will partner closely with cross-functional partners across functions such as Recruiting, HRBP, Payroll, and Legal to define process objectives and success metrics that ensure success.
  • You will lead the Workday roadmap - you will ensure that Workday and other HR technology is optimized to meet the needs of our business and employees, and you will use accurate data from these systems to help advise and drive business decisions.
  • You will shape the strategy for critical business initiatives, and be a critical player in driving the successful execution of key business initiatives such as Pay Equity analysis, Benefits Plan Design, and scaling HR Operations (people and process) for overall growth and expansion. You will have the opportunity to help shape the strategy for these initiatives, in many cases with the opportunity to build from the ground up.
  • Your team will be responsible for the management of our facilities, office space, and all-company events ensuring our internal and digital footprints work for everyone on a daily and event basis.

  • You have a successful track record of leading the total rewards function for a large, multi-site, organization as well as a small, high-growth organization through its IPO.
  • You have seen total rewards in a company with a non-traditional and innovative compensation strategy. Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred.
  • You have deep experience and expertise with executive compensation and are a strong influencer and communicator with all levels of the organization including the C-suite and Board.

You have demonstrated success in driving large cross-functional HR initiatives for which there wasn't a pre-existing playbook.

You are extraordinary at driving efficient, repeatable processes that generate consistent results. You are a systems thinker and easily connect the dots between need and technological solutions. You love continuously improving and will do what it takes to get the job done while simultaneously figuring out ways to automate, reduce friction, and increase quality.
  • You have proven project management and operational skills with demonstrated ability to lead global projects and initiatives.
  • You're a strong collaborator and communicator. You proactively build cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the company. You are effective at driving outcomes and change even without direct authority. You can lead and drive communication efforts to ensure that managers and employees understand the company rewards philosophy and programs.
  • You love measuring impact and managing ambitious goals. You're effective at setting clear goals and measuring the impact of initiatives - whether it's about driving accuracy, time savings, or customer delight.
  • You have a solid understanding of HR fundamentals. You understand the technical side of HR, such as compliance and employment law requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of cross-functional leadership and management experience in dynamically more challenging roles.
  • 5+ years driving compensation at a strategic level
  • Proven track record leading all aspects of total rewards including but not limited to compensation, executive compensation, benefits, and 401k plans
  • Prior experience leading HR Ops and Technology or key functions within that team in 1,000+ employee organizations
  • Prior experience leading and operating on HR data platforms; Workday experience a plus


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exhibited consultative style with confirmed experience supporting senior business leaders, including demonstrated ability to lead discussions with senior business leaders
  • Proven ability to work on complex HR problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors including legal regulations, company culture, and methodologies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, contracts, financial reports, and legal documents pertaining generally to human resources and benefits, in particular.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with flexibility and demonstrated organization
  • Proven oral and written communication abilities with the demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues
