We’re looking for a dynamic VP of People to design and execute on a people strategy that addresses the full lifecycle experience of a team member - from recruiting and onboarding, through engagement, performance management, learning and development. You'll foster an environment that allows each team member to contribute fully to our mission and culture. The ideal candidate brings a track record of success in scaling startups, running an operationally excellent function, earning the trust of employees and leaders alike, holding leaders accountable to People goals, and being a cultural steward. 

This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities will include

  • Build highly scalable people processes through the employee lifecycle, including overseeing and leading: performance and compensation processes; engagement survey and action planning processes; and org structure, headcount planning and prioritization
  • Chart a vision for talent development and performance management across the company
  • Champion operational excellence, establishing metrics, process, and controls for hiring and performance management, and regular assessment and improvement
  • Serve as a partner in achieving hiring and performance goals; steering and representing the culture (values, voice, and tone) of the company
  • Develop scalable and impactful plans for the onboarding, training, and engagement of employees 
  • Partner with leadership to develop clear communication and documentation around Garner’s culture
  • Own compliance and employee relations to ensure Garner is up to date and consistent on best practices and employment law

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in People Ops roles
  • 3+ years of experience leading a People team at a high growth company
  • Highly analytical and metrics-driven with a strong breadth of skills across Recruiting, Compliance, Compensation, Employee Relations, and Learning and Development
  • Ability to initiate and drive change and have the flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, growing environment
  • Builder mentality - able to operate at a high, strategic level and also dive deep into tactics
  • Passionate about optimizing all aspects of People & Talent
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing engagement and development programs that allow all team members to contribute fully

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to think systematically and design operational processes
  • Strong communication abilities (written and verbal)
  • A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
  • A desire to work in a rapidly evolving startup environment with notable upside
  • A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the healthcare system

The salary range for this position is: $200,000 - $320,000 annually. Compensation for this role will depend on a variety of factors including qualifications, skills and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans.
