Waymo's Operations team keeps the business rolling to deliver the Waymo Driver to the world. We enable our fully autonomous ride-hailing service to run safely and reliably, support testing efforts of our trucking and local delivery efforts, and bring our expertise to guide business decisions. Our Waymo U (training) team is seeking a Training Development Manager who will lead one of our content and training development teams supporting our Fleet Response organization. This position plays a key partnership role to Operations management and staff. This position is responsible for the overall design, development and execution of training development initiatives, focused on helping our team build the technical skills they need to work safely. You will assess and differentiate the learning approach to meet compliance and regulatory needs, and align with other internal stakeholders and industry experts to identify emerging industry trends that would be applicable to Waymo U curriculums.

In this role, you’ll: 

  • Program/Project manage multiple initiatives from initiation through transition to delivery
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communications for initiatives
  • Report out on initiatives including successes and areas of opportunity to  continuously improve training effectiveness and efficiency
  • Review and approve all developed materials throughout the development lifecycle

At a minimum we’d like you to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field and 5+ years of training development, including 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 8+ total years of training development, including 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and oral business communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people and levels
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing learning strategies, initiatives, and technical programs for people at all levels
  • Strong strategic skills with the ability to move from strategic to tactical
