We are seeking a trusted business partner and team player to join the Global Human Resources team as a Talent Manager. This role will start remotely but will ultimately be based in our New York office. The ideal candidate for this role is an individual contributor with strong program development / project management capabilities and demonstrated ability to drive culture forward.

 

In partnership with the SVP, Talent, the Talent Manager will focus on the implementation of impactful programs for employees within New York, one of Edelman’s largest regional offices. These programs will be driven by our strategic initiatives and the employee life cycle. Hot topics of the moment are partnering with talent acquisition, employee retention, succession planning, DEI, learning & development, and HR data insights. The successful candidate will model inclusivity and authenticity, demonstrate the ability to confidently consult on employee matters at all organizational levels and have a strong command of the employee life cycle.  

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or a combination of related experience
  • Demonstrated capability in Data Analytics and Insights
  • Strong project management & program delivery capabilities

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven knowledge of core HR processes, primarily, performance management, DEI, leadership development, succession planning, training.
  • Prior experience promoting an atmosphere which inspires employees to excel and develop.
  • Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Proven experience working well with others to maintain and build cross-functional (internal and external) relationships.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Prior experience clearly expressing complex ideas and strong presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program design and execute key portions of the talent strategy for the New York regional office.
  • Promote and establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale; drive the Edelman culture at all levels.
  • Work closely with business leaders to assess inform the strategy to retain current talent as well as attract outside talent to the business.
  • Partner with leaders to effectively manage and lead change in the organization, providing the right amount of transparency to employees and giving leaders the right tools to lead change.
  • Work in collaboration with HR leadership on a team that will create and deploy the following:

  • Behavioral Competency Building, Role Clarity, and Career Pathing
  • Consistent pipeline of internal and external talent for job openings
  • Training and development programs to meet the needs of the client group(s) and its leadership
  • Ensure DEI philosophies are embedded in all relevant programs and processes
  • Proper application of benefits and rewards programs
  • Liaison with the Culture Committees within each client group
  • Provide opportunities for engagement through volunteerism, recognition programs, meetups and focus groups
  • Analysis of engagement survey data and implementation of action plans
  • Compliance with applicable employment regulations

  • Identify changes needed to key processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Proactively seek knowledge of both industry and functional specialty by researching best practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technological advancements and benchmark comparisons in order to create HR practices that are best in class.
  • Other duties as assigned

Measures of Success:

  • Improvement of client group engagement scores
  • Improvement of C score
  • Timely deployment of HR programs and training
  • Reduced turnover
  • Achieving DEI Goals
  • Noticeable changes in client group as a result of HR programs, measured anecdotally, through engagement surveys, focus groups and exit surveys (ex. Demonstrably upholding values, competencies, communication methods, leadership actions, fewer ER complaints, etc)
