An Insider's view of Tilled

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

I work hard as Tilled’s CEO, but I also take time to pick up my daughter from school and go on vacations with my family. Recently I heard one of our leaders tell their team that family comes first, and I hope that, by example, we allow people to be humans and do what they need to do, both to get their work done and also to enjoy their lives.

Caleb

CEO

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

Effectively collaborating with other teams starts with setting expectations and openly communicating our goals. I make sure the goals I have for my team not only align with the goals of other departments, but also the company as a whole. From there, it’s crucial we are transparent about how we plan to reach those goals and are open to feedback.

Kara

VP of Marketing

What makes someone successful on your team?

A successful team member at Tilled is doing the following three things: embracing a positive and proactive mindset, putting measurable effort into specified goals, and adding consistent value to their individual team and the company as a whole - all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Tim

Director of Talent

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

Collaboration is one of our top values at Tilled, and wherever ideas come from, we are willing to listen. Especially as a startup, all of our employees are constantly receiving feedback from our customers, partners and other stakeholders, and we value the ideas that come from conversations each of our employees are having every day.

John

COO

What kinds of technical challenges do you and your team face?

One of the main challenges we face is ensuring all of our products can scale to support billions of dollars in transaction volume. We also place a deep emphasis on correctness. Keeping a balance between the two is a major focus. Payments is an interesting space globally, and the United States is behind on innovation. We want to change that.

Matt

CTO
