Job Summary
In a knowledge business like insurance, the quality of our talent directly impacts our business results. And as the human experience at work has undergone profound shifts in recent years, the need to engage and develop talent has never been greater.
This position will impact strategic initiatives across the talent lifecycle and will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of learning solutions for CNA leaders and emerging leaders. A successful candidate will be someone who has a track record and passion for developing talent, fostering inclusion and equity, and growing the capacity and capability of leaders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Partners with HR and business stakeholders to understand current and future business challenges in order to recommend high impact talent and leadership development solutions
  2. Designs innovative leadership development programs that include a blended learning approach such as coaching, classroom training, action learning & e-learning
  3. Supports strategic initiatives across the talent lifecycle including succession planning, talent review and performance management
  4. Partners with the D&I Office to deliver strategic initiatives designed to strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion at CNA such as the D&I Sponsorship Program and Inclusive Leadership training
  5. Uses strong project management practices to set strategy and budget for multi-work stream projects; plans, develops and implements learning solutions; keeps stakeholders engaged and informed
  6. Researches and establishes relationships with relevant external vendors, partnering to customize content
  7. Designs and implements proactive communication and change management plans to ensure initiatives are well executed
  8. Facilitates and emcees talent and leadership development programs
  9. Analyzes program effectiveness and recommends continuous improvement methods
  10. Proactively engages in external research and knowledge sharing to stay current on talent and leadership development trends and best practices

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Passion for developing and growing leaders
  • Experience leading strategic talent management initiatives
  • Experience in end-to-end project management, including detailed project planning and execution
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to effectively implement talent development strategies to support business goals
  • Knowledge of learning design, such as adult learning theory and blended learning strategies
  • Experience facilitating large groups
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable navigating organizational dynamics
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and make critical business decisions effectively, at times with ambiguous or incomplete information
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Expert use of Microsoft Office applications especially PowerPoint and Excel


Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent
  2. Typically a minimum of five to eight years of strategic HR experience
