Sr. Specialist – HR Communications

West Monroe has an immediate opportunity for a seasoned professional to join the organization’s Shared Services function as a member of the Internal Communications team with a focus on People Team (HR) communications. The internal HR Communications Senior Specialist will think holistically about how we educate and communicate with our employees around career milestones (performance management, organizational updates), Total Rewards (benefits and compensation), recognition, learning and development, and more. This role will be responsible for supporting the strategy and leading the execution of the internal communication components by designing and executing creative and engaging content to support our employees throughout the moments that matter at West Monroe. They will partner regularly with our Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Talent & Leadership Development, Talent Acquisition, and People Strategy & Experience teams. They will also provide ad hoc functional support for the Corporate Communications team.
Position Type & Location: Full time role in Chicago.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with People Team (HR) functional leaders and the Corporate Communications team to create communications that enhance and promote West Monroe’s HR programs (e.g., benefits, employee recognition, employee wellness, performance management, learning and development, and compensation initiatives)
- Learn about West Monroe’s HR programs to determine best channels to deliver people-related messages to different populations
- Develop and execute annual People Team (HR) communication strategy and timelines for all repeating operational HR programs (e.g., performance management, pay fairness summits)
- Lead communication strategy, planning, and content creation for new People Team (HR) initiatives, programs, and rollouts
- Seek out innovative ways to showcase the firm’s benefits and programs, and how we support our people through the moments that matter
- Develop supporting materials (e.g., brochures, toolkits, videos, podcast episodes, digital signage) to ensure all HR programs are understood and effectively communicated by leadership, Talent Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders
- Work with People Team (HR) function/project leads to draft communications messaging and plans for a variety of operational and cultural communications and campaigns
- Help ideate to improve communications capabilities and channels at West Monroe
- Develop a deep understanding of our business, benefits offerings, and employee needs, and create branding around internal People Team (HR) initiatives
- Additional Comms Team functional support (e.g., metrics, request management) as needed
Desired Skills
- At least 4-5 years of experience of hands-on work experience in Communications and/or Human Resources, preferably in a professional services environment
- Strong writing skills, and, in particular, the ability to write in different styles to reflect the nature of the stakeholder, audience, and message
- Experience in creating and driving communications plans
- Demonstrated experience in the successful development of internal communications, in particular within People Teams (HR functions)
- Ability to take ideas and initiatives and turn them into engaging content that drives target audience to take action
- Strong project management skills, and the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience driving key stakeholders toward consensus and results, with a track record of working effectively and forming relationships at both peer-level and management-level and above
- Ability to work with a variety of internal partners and manage time effectively
- Ability to work and manage projects autonomously
- Experience with the Microsoft office suite, including PowerPoint
- Experience producing videos a plus (idea concept, video briefs, participant selection and communication, off-camera direction, and production oversight)
- Digital signage and SharePoint experience a plus
- Experience with current web practices, supporting technologies, new media

- Flexibility to travel nationally, 5-10% of the year
