 About the Role

This position is responsible for supporting Assurance IQ, a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential. In partnership with the Head of Human Resources, this role will be accountable for the development and implementation of Assurance’s Total Rewards philosophy and strategy. The role will provide strategic support and direction on both compensation and benefits matters, reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining compensation plans and practices for the company including salary, performance bonus program and long-term incentive programs. This role will also be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of the benefits programs. This role may manage people and may be responsible for hiring the talent needed to achieve our goals ensuring successful onboarding, providing coaching, measuring progress, and holding people accountable.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Compensation
  • Lead and operationalize job architecture to include creating job families/categories, job leveling, job codes, job titles, pay grades and range
  • Lead in the design and development of a compensation review process including the development, management, and execution of the annual compensation reviews (base pay, bonus, and performance shares) and promotion cycles
  • Perform benchmarking, job analysis, job evaluation, job pricing, and FLSA evaluation
  • Provide consultation and advice to Recruiting, HR Manager/Generalist team, and business leaders to help make compensation decisions
  • Complete the annual updates to the salary structures, conduct detailed market pricing and ad hoc reviews/analysis based on business need
  • Educate and train managers and employees on the Company’s total rewards philosophy, plans, and practices
  • Lead, manage and participate in projects, task forces, special assignments and actively support workplace DEIB initiatives.

  • In alignment with Total Rewards philosophy, manage and provide leadership in the oversight of innovative benefits, wellness, and retirement programs, that are inclusive and equitable for all employee populations to attract and retain diverse top talent 
  • In collaboration with the Head of Human Resources, assist in the design, implementation, and administration of the benefits programs
  • Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefit package (e.g. design materials for new hire orientation, open enrollment, benefits guide, etc.)
  • Participate in and analyzes the results of benefits surveys
  • Manage leave of absence, disability, and worker’s compensation program and ensure compliance with all federal and state legislation. Coordinates the temporary and permanent work accommodations including the interactive process meetings in compliance with the ADA and FEHA
  • Maintain all benefits documentation including plan documents, amendments, summary plan descriptions, 401(k) Committee meeting minutes, Form 5500s, and coordinates compliance with other benefits legal requirements as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of in-depth experience with compensation and benefit programs, strategy, design, and practices
  • Previous experience in an HRIS system and interfacing with payroll systems (ADP WFN)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of benefits programs and practices and related applicable laws and regulations (e.g. ERISA, DOL, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, FEHA, ADA, Section 125, etc.). Prior experience in benefit plan audits and regulatory filing such as Form 5500s
  • Prior experience administering worker’s compensation, leave of absences, and disability management programs in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Experience dealing with the HR demands that are unique to a distribution channel, sales environment, and W2/1099 workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks and responsibilities using good judgment around balancing the long-term impact of decisions with the appropriate sense of importance and high-quality customer service
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, extremely organized, and experienced in working in a fast-paced collaborative environment balancing multiple priorities and tasks with professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically the ability to develop complex excel spreadsheet and graphs
