About the Role

Workday is seeking a Senior Manager, Payroll - APAC & EMEA to join our team! Our employees are at the core of our business which means the ideal candidate has a passion for leading and motivating people, growing talent and building impactful teams. This candidate will also be a self-starter, a great communicator, and will enjoy collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents. The right individual will handle overall operations of payrolls for more than 25 countries primarily in Asia Pacific, and Europe. In doing so, you will be encouraged to ensure accurately and timely processing of payroll with strong data integrity. In addition, you'll need to evaluate and carry out practices to support compliance in each country. This is a great opportunity to help set a strategic direction for a team, mentor and develop that team, all while helping the team to achieve worthwhile lofty goals! Continual evaluation and evolution of the organization and its processes will be a key to achieving this success. As will be sharing your vision with the team and helping them to see how they can achieve that vision.

A few other keys include the following:

  • Maintain a strong control environment, including protection of employee related data
  • Partner with other Workday teams to design and implement cross-functional process improvements, uptake new system functionality and support initiatives that scale with business growth.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to resolve payroll issues
  • Evaluate and ensure maintenance of policies and procedures for third-party payroll team
  • Actively encourage individual team member growth through mentoring and feedback



About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 + years experience leading a large-scale payroll operation
  • 3 + years experience with 3rd party payroll providers
  • Bachelors Degree



Other Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of increasing experience in a high growth or public company
  • Ability to prioritize and direct a team with purpose
  • Excellent communicator
  • Work with all levels of management, individual contributors
  • Customer service focused, and solution oriented
  • Experience with several cross-functional payroll projects (working with human resources, benefits, compensation or other teams)
  • Uses experience and data points to make sound decisions
  • Reasonable knowledge of accounting, HCM and payroll systems
  • Experienced in applying concepts/philosophies for appropriate problem-solving and decision-making
