Our Technical Training & Enablement team designs, develops, and delivers technical training and enablement for ServiceNow’s Product organization. We are passionate about making ServiceNow an incredible place to work for every employee and helping ServiceNow achieve its mission. We partner with leaders in our Engineering, Technical Support, and other technology teams to help them achieve their business objectives through learning solutions
Role:
The Senior Instructional Designer/Developer and Trainer will have the opportunity to lead and execute learning projects for our large and complex programs that drive our organizational priorities and support the team through the delivery of ServiceNow product training to our employees. We are constantly innovating our approach to deliver the right training, at the right time, at the right level to drive measurable impact.
What you get to do in this role:
- Deliver virtual and classroom training to highly technical audiences.
- Support and mentor new employees.
- Capture and record class attendance.
- Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions.
- Interface with subject matter experts, business owners, and peers to meet business needs across multiple cross-functional teams.
- Play a key role in training projects, including coordinating activities for geographically dispersed teams, defining project timelines, identifying priorities, and developing and revising content, as appropriate.
- Design high-quality instructional materials and curricula for eLearning and instructor-led blended courses targeting ServiceNow’s internal technical audience.
- Adhere to appropriate instructional standards and best practices including needs analysis, creating a design strategy to meet learning objectives
- Review existing content and other source materials to design and develop courseware.
- Create eLearning storyboards that outline course structure, programming, and image requirements
- Conduct course evaluations to determine effectiveness of training and incorporate measurement and assessment results into future training.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 8+ years eLearning/Instructional Design experience for Information Technology (IT) or Software Development topics.
- Extensive technical background and experience with enterprise software (SaaS/PaaS a plus), IT Service Management (ITSM) applications and tools, and familiarity with ITIL framework are strongly preferred.
- Experience working with highly-technical content, preferably complex software systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Proven experience as corporate technical trainer.
- Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
- Training and experience in applying instructional design practices and methodologies to support training delivery and eLearning development.
- Ability to coordinate projects, including creating timelines and meeting deadlines.
- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience with learning and design tools, including eLearning development tools and learning management systems. Articulate Storyline strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, proofreading, editing, and reading comprehension skills.
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to independently prioritize, shifting workload in a high-growth, ever-changing environment.
- Strong growth mindset, always looking for ways to improve.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills – able to work well with many different types of people.
- Comfortable challenging the status quo.
- Ability to travel as needed and work during non-standard business hours.
- Strong project management skills desired.
