The Job:

Tango Card is looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to join our Seattle office and own the recruiting process from end-to-end.  You will work consultatively with our hiring managers to partner and develop strategies to identify, attract, and wow top talent. We are passionate about delivering a candidate experience that really demonstrates our values, our culture, and what it’s like to be a Tangocardian.

While you will be expected to recruit top talent across all roles including entry level and leadership roles, you will primarily focus on software engineering, business intelligence, data architecture, and product roles while delivering a start to finish amazing candidate experience during every stage of the recruiting process. Reports To: Director, Recruiting & Candidate Experience

Who you are: 

  • Owner - You own the full-cycle recruiting process from start to finish
  • Partner - You partner with hiring managers, interviewers, team members, Finance, and the People Team throughout the hiring process
  • Seeker – You LOVE the thrill of finding top tech talent; you know where to look and how to craft messages that will result in qualified applications 
  • Project Manager - You care for multiple, time-sensitive requisitions and follow through daily on an excellent pipeline of candidates
  • Vault - You are discreet and handle confidential information and documents with sensitivity
  • Innovator - You get energized by staying up to date on recruiting trends and best practices; you innovate and improve our hiring process
  • Connector - You enjoy connecting others and have a good understanding of the tech talent market; you host meetups and other events to cultivate our talent brand
  • Tech Geek - You are not a network engineer or web developer, but you could play one on TV; you speak and understand technical terms and jargon, which helps you synthesize the needs of hiring managers and qualified candidates
  • Communicator - You effectively communicate both internally to clients and leaders and externally to candidates and recruiting agencies
  • Educator - You can thoughtfully guide on realistic time to fill, the best types of questions to ask and those to avoid, and offer details important to each candidate
  • Marlon Brando - You can sell Tango Card, the role, and our culture; you make offers our ideal candidates can’t refuse
  • Smart Cookie - You understand employment law, immigration, compensation structure, and benefits
  • Sage - You have a seasoned eye for talent with the ability to quickly screen resumes for fit; you have built a sound, multi-faceted sourcing approach with the ability to deep dive into searches for hard-to-fill requisitions; you have sharp interview skills with the ability to screen for both technical and cultural qualities; and you know when the right time to leverage boutique recruiting agencies.  Overall, you know that recruiting is both an art and a science.

Who you are not:

  • Beginner - Someone just starting out in the recruiting field
  • Generalist - An HR Generalist who has “done recruiting”
  • Sourcer - Someone that hands off candidates after sourcing
  • Processor - Someone that goes through the interview motions and passes candidates to hiring leaders without segmentation

As Tango Card's Sr. Technical Recruiter, you will deliver the following outcomes:Full Cycle Recruiting (85% of time)

  • Partner and establish trust with key stakeholders to identify and understand their talent needs
  • Manage full cycle recruiting process 
  • Create candidate experiences that are respectful, engaging, and transparent
  • Benchmark new roles and leverage existing job descriptions for existing roles
  • Conduct in-take / kickoff interviews with hiring leaders and business partners
  • Find, engage, and activate passive candidates on niche platforms, such as StackOverflow, Dice, and GitHub
  • Parse specialized skills and qualifications to screen tech resumes and interview candidates that align
  • Partner with hiring leaders on candidate selection, interview scheduling, calibrations, and offer/rejection notifications
  • Engage with recruiting agencies as necessary
  • Regularly track and report pipeline, priorities, and performance data / recruiting metrics to share with internal stakeholders
  • Supports and educate hiring leaders and other interviewers on respectful, compliant recruiting practices

Employer Branding and Social Media (10% of time)

  • Collaborate with Marketing to leverage social media (i.e., Career Site, Glassdoor, Indeed, Built In, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) to promote Tango Card as an employer of choice
  • Host meetups and other interactive forums to attract top talent
  • Identify and amplify employee ambassadors within Tango Card
  • Strategize different ways to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, events, sourcing campaigns, and employer branding strategies
  • Research, evaluate, and deliver on best in class, innovative, and creative sourcing strategies to create a pipeline of diverse, high caliber talent for the organization
  • Keep up to date with new technological trends and products

Administration and Process Improvement (5% of time)

  • Recommend and drive improvements that impact our recruiting pipeline and processes
  • Manage and document accurate hiring requirements, candidate scorecards, disposition codes, and metrics
  • Manage, maintain, and educate on our applicant tracking system
  • Analyze return on investment of recruiting spend, job ads, and job boards
  • Work on ad-hoc Candidate Experience projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Our ideal Senior Technical Recruiter candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience recruiting developers, senior developers, UX/UI designers, business intelligence, data architecture, and other technical and product roles from top of funnel through offer in high growth companies
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience recruiting for non-tech roles
  • Experience closing and filling niche roles and leadership positions

Additionally, our ideal Senior Technical Recruiter will have most of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: 

  • Knowledge of Engineering organizations and Engineering roles necessary to build digital products 
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g., social media recruiting and Boolean search)
  • Ability to partner closely with Engineering to stay on top of business changes and talent needs
  • Ability to close offers by clearly articulating base compensation, equity, and benefits
  • Ability to use various interview formats, such as phone screens, video interviewing, and structured interviewing
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of candidates, hiring leaders, and stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and use it to support changes in the hiring process
  • Skilled in using applicant tracking systems (Greenhouse experience ideal)
  • Skilled in hosting meetups and engaging with tech talent in other public forums
  • Skilled in prioritizing time and requisitions to support the most critical business needs
  • Skilled in MS Office, Excel, Google Workspace, and social media platforms
