The Job

Tango Card is looking for a Senior Sourcing Recruiter to champion sourcing end-to-end. You will work consultatively with recruiters and hiring partners to develop strategies to identify, attract, and wow top talent. We are passionate about delivering a candidate experience that really demonstrates our values, our culture, and what it’s like to be a Tangocardian.

You will source top talent across all roles including entry level and leadership roles, you will primarily focus on building pipelines for some of our most difficult and exciting to fill roles including marketing, engineering, product, sales, IT, Finance and customer service. You’ll build “data cases” for your sourcing channels and approaches, ensuring an outstanding candidate experience with each stage of candidate sourcing processes. This is a strategic role that combines both the challenge of finding the formula and delivering statistically balanced results. This is an exciting opportunity to join the sourcing squad in a rapidly growing and innovative recruitment function and organization.

Note: this role can be remote within any one of the 13 states that we employ wonderful humans!

Reports to: Director, Recruiting and Candidate Experience

Who You Are

  • Owner - You champion the talent sourcing process from start to finish
  • Super Sleuth - you uncover things no one else saw coming; from discovering pockets of talent that are unreached to correlating affinity trends in candidates still yet untapped
  • Seeker – You LOVE the thrill of finding top talent; you know where to look and how to craft messages that will result in qualified applications
  • Visionary - you make a “map out the mess” in a still up-and-coming recruitment specialty function; ‘sourcing vision’ is your superpower
  • Innovator - You innovate and improve our sourcing processes, contributing to both our strategy and tactical approach
  • In-the-know - You keep up with the latest sourcing trends, from consuming white papers to diving into the “deeper data details” of how top companies are meeting the best talent, right where they’re at
  • Project Coordinator - You care for multiple, time-sensitive requisitions and follow through daily on an excellent pipeline of candidates
  • Partner - You partner with recruiters, hiring managers, interviewers, team members, and the People Team throughout the hiring process
  • Data-Focused - you use insights that are crafted to identify and get results; you make crafted and strategic turns to explore, discover and test-drive data theories that could get us one step closer to connecting with top talent
  • Ambitious - if the “formula” doesn’t work, you snag your wins and learned lessons, then start fresh again; there is no data mountain high enough to keep you from finding a way!
  • Vault - You are discreet and handle confidential information and documents with sensitivity
  • Marlon Brando - You can sell Tango Card, the role, and our culture; you make offers our ideal candidates can’t refuse
  • Connector - You enjoy connecting others and have a good understanding of the talent market; you host virtual meetups and other unique events to cultivate our talent brand
  • Tech Geek - You're not a marketing editor or web developer by day, but you could play one on TV; you speak and understand a variety of role-specific technical terms and jargon, which helps you synthesize the needs of hiring managers and recruiters to qualify candidates
  • Educator - You can thoughtfully guide on realistic time to identify top talent, the best types of questions to ask and those to avoid, and offer details important to each candidate
  • Communicator - You optimally communicate both internally to clients and leaders and externally to candidates and recruiting agencies
  • Smart Cookie - You understand employment law, immigration, compensation structure, and benefits
  • Sage - You know that sourcing is an art, a numbers game, yet coincidentally also a science. You have a top-tier eye for talent with the ability to swiftly screen resumes or profiles for alignment; you have built a sound, multi-faceted sourcing approach with the ability to deep dive into searches for hard-to-fill requisitions; you have sharp interview skills with the ability to pulse-screen for both technical and cultural qualities; and you know when the right time to use boutique recruiting agencies for souring support.

Who You Are Not

  • Beginner - Someone just starting out in the recruiting or sourcing field / function
  • Sometimes-Sourcer - A Recruiter who has only dipped their toe into the sourcing pool
  • Processor - Someone that goes through the motions and passes lukewarm candidates to recruiters
  • Checkbox’er - a Sourcer who contacts randomly-selected candidates to “see what happens”

Our ideal Senior Sourcing Recruiter candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years combined experience sourcing and/or recruiting for a variety of roles in high growth companies
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience sourcing for niche roles and leadership positions

  • Ability to screen candidates using various interview and conversation formats, such as phone screens, video interviewing, and structured interviewing
  • Ability to connect with all levels of candidates, hiring leaders, and recruiters
  • Ability to analyze and use it to support changes in the sourcing process
  • Skilled in using applicant tracking systems (Greenhouse experience ideal) and talent sourcing platforms (LinkedIn and Hiretual experience ideal)
