Job summary
The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Senior Manager for Talent Management Programs to join us. In this role, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced environment where you'll build and enhance global processes that enable managers to make data-driven, inclusive decisions on how they manage, promote, and develop their associates. You will be responsible for leading a team of program managers and subject matter experts in performance and talent programs, including our performance management process, enterprise competency model, talent review and succession planning process, and developmental feedback. As a Senior Manager, you'll also increase decision-making around the design, promotion, and enhancement of key talent management tools used by business and HR leaders alike. As part of the Global Functions and Talent team, you will partner with HR leaders across the compensation, field and functional HR, talent acquisition, and Red Hat University (RHU) teams in consulting with the business. To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a highly collaborative, people-oriented leader able to guide processes and projects from ideation and strategy through to delivery, making connections across HR team functions to ensure overall process governance, documentation, and alignment in our go-to-market approach. This role will report directly to VP, Global Functions, and Talent. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Hold regular performance and development conversations with your direct team to set expectations on performance, manage team deliverables in alignment with strategy, and ensure high-quality career conversations
  • Conduct intake with customers and stakeholders to understand key talent challenges, and effectively develop, deploy, and manage program enhancements to address common challenges
  • Integrate disparate HR team efforts, initiatives, data, and communications to bring them to life in a meaningful, consumable way for Red Hat's managers and associates
  • Use comprehensive research of business requirements and HR industry and technology trends to successfully develop team strategy and increase program offerings and enhancements
  • Define success for each program and continuously refine and update programs, measuring impact and gathering stakeholder feedback to guide future enhancements
  • Hold regular program briefings and feedback discussions with HR directors and teams, guiding adoption and enabling high-quality delivery of Red Hat talent management offerings
  • Partner across Leadership Development, People Analytics, Red Hat University (RHU), Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Communications and Change Management teams to develop the strategic objectives and core positioning and messaging for program offerings


Required skills

  • Team-oriented and highly collaborative, with the proven ability to lead through motivation and inspiration
  • 8+ years of proven success in fast-paced talent management, executive development, HR manager, HR business partner, or people consulting roles
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Proven record of designing and launching successful programs or projects and developing go-to-market strategies with demonstrated impact across a global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with internal stakeholders from various parts of the organization and increase successful outcomes cross-functionally
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly establish and maintain credibility with audiences at all levels including C-level executives
  • Ability to manage many competing priorities and deadlines with sustained energy and focus
  • Experience with global HR information systems (HRIS); familiarity with Workday is a plus
  • Experience in project management, leading global projects or building and delivering programs that involve stakeholders from multiple different areas
  • Degree in industrial and organizational psychology, business, human resources, finance, organizational development, or a related discipline; master's degree or equivalent working experience is a plus
