What You Will Contribute:

The HR Communications Specialist is responsible for enhancing employee engagement and the employee experience through Badger Meter's established communication channels. This role leads the design, execution and overall program management of the Badger Meter intranet, providing a global platform for employee communication, collaboration, and information. This position also oversees our employer branding (EVP) assets, key messaging and communication methods to ensure we are effectively engaging with both employees and outside applicants.

Responsibilities:

Intranet:

  • Leads and collaborates with stakeholders to develop and implement content strategies that satisfy communication goals, and result in keeping the intranet relevant, useful and on-brand.
  • Develops and maintains active communities through blogs, posts, comments and other social engagement; creates content as needed.
  • Ensures an exceptional user experience through design of the intranet site architecture, navigation capability, and search and page structure.
  • Leads special projects to develop, improve and deliver new content and/or tools through the intranet; uses expertise to provide solutions/recommendations.
  • Provides training to users, content managers, authors and administrators, and private group owners.
  • Owns process for ensuring alignment with global standards and regional objectives, including review of new intranet content drafted by authors for publication approval.
  • Coordinates governance council meetings, providing updates on performance metrics with insights and improvement recommendations.
  • Partners with the IT department and program vendors on upgrades of the intranet platform or to troubleshoot technical issues.



Employee Value Proposition Communication (EVP)

  • Oversees our employer branding (EVP) assets, using existing channels such as intranet, LinkedIn and social media to connect with our internal employees in ways that advance Badger Meter's mission, values and brand.
  • Assists the talent acquisition team to ensure our social media presence is engaging, compelling and driving our ability to attract quality talent.
  • Promotes Badger Meter through social media campaigns that recognize Badger Meter as an employer of choice highlighting our EVP and the One Badger Meter culture.
  • Identify communication opportunities to highlight our charitable outreach events, intern and new college graduate experience, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Identify and create new opportunities for employee communication including podcasts, videos and other methods of engaging our current workforce.
  • Partners with the HR team to ensure a consistent, One Badger Meter, approach to all internal employee communication, acting as a creative resource from annual benefits enrollment to employee engagement.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to employee communication specialist.



Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Human Resources or other related field.
  • Experience managing and creating content and architecture for a website, intranet or other information management platform.
  • Excellent command of social media platforms
  • Familiar with concepts, best practices and procedures related to information architecture, design, usability and governance.
  • Ability to look at the big picture and meet communication needs of varied audiences.
  • Strong aptitude for creative and strategic problem-solving.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills; clearly and succinctly conveys information and ideas to individuals and groups.
  • Strong project management skills in order to plan, implement, organize, and monitor content management activities.
  • Ability to motivate and provide direction to individuals and teams to achieve goals and meet commitments.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and graphic design applications.
