Principal HR Associate

Capital One is looking for an exceptional Principal HR Associate to join the Emerging Merchant Businesses (EMB) HR team supporting critical talent initiatives in support of the Emerging Merchant Businesses HR Leader and Enterprise HR (EHR) teams.

Summary of Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver and prepare EMB Org Health Review for monthly business reviews along with Talent Mobility updates

  • Deliver open requisition and hires data through weekly req reports, MBRs, ad hoc reporting, decks, etc. leveraging Workday, Team Inventory Registry (TIR), and Tableau for TA Leads, EMB SLT, HR SLT Chiefs of Staff, People Analytics, Finance Partners, and Talent SLT 

  • Partner with HR Horizontal Team and local HRCs on preparation and delivery of all horizontal processes and activities for EMB Business and EMB Tech teams

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition (TA) Leaders and People Strategy & Analytics team to produce Talent Competition/Marketplace Trends for EMB Talent Competitors

  • Assist with establishing and maintaining projected hiring demand (inclusive of non-associate labor) for emerging businesses in partnership with TA Leaders, Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) Leaders, and EMB HR Leaders 

  • Assist with recruiting budgets for all emerging businesses in partnership with TA leader 

  • Coordinate with TA Leaders, Enterprise Diversity & Recruiting, and Enterprise Supplier Management for special sourcing opportunities (event management, communications, etc.)

  • Coordinate with EMB Chiefs of Staff (inclusive of Tech and Design) to on-board all new associates and people leaders and cross-reference with Retail, PPMX, EMB, Strategy, and Card

  • Own the scheduling and agendas for weekly problem-solving meetings, quarterly team planning meetings (All Hands), and annual prioritization meetings 

  • Strategically plan people center site visits for leaders, team builders and events helping drive engagement across the team in partnership with the TA Leaders 

  • Assist with integrated (fully-stacked) horizontal HR reporting, preparation, and delivery for all emerging businesses

  • Partner with EMB Chief of Staff, EMB Communications Leader, and People, Strategy & Analytics partners to provide visualization of HR data and talent communications for EMB SLT and 0-1 Leadership Comms 

  • Manage distributions lists, org charts and calendar invites for the extended EMB HR organization 

  • Build mutually beneficial partnerships and partner with coordinators, recruiters, admins, executives and people leaders to drive results and strategic outcomes 

  • Work closely with the extended EMB HR team in support of ad hoc needs related to the successful management of data

  • Strong judgment and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently 

  • Strong relationship building skills across multiple HR organizations and leaders 

  • Acute attention to detail & solid critical thinking skills 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience 

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist 

  • At least 1 year of experience in Project or Process Management 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • MBA or Master’s Degree 

  • Professional Human Resources Certification or Project Management Professional Certification 

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources 

  • 3+ years of experience in Project or Process Management 

  • 1+ years of experience with Agile delivery
