Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.

Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our San Francisco hub must be based in the United States.

The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a People Systems Lead to join our People Operations team. The People Systems Lead will work on process improvements by using HR system capabilities to increase automation and integration, reduce manual work, and improve the quality of data. They will build project plans, maintain HR system workflows, and collaborate with other functions to prioritize process improvements, workflow automation, and data integrations. The People Systems Lead will be a technical point-of-contact for the assigned functional areas and will assist subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The People Systems Lead will also keep track of HR systems updates and inform stakeholders about major changes to the HR system. They support HR system upgrades, patches, testing, and other technical projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is excited about owning the shaping of our People systems infrastructure and building systems, processes, and automation to scale with ~50% YOY growth. The role is best for someone with a foundation in a range of People Operations focus areas (systems, compliance, processes) and who wants to pursue growth into HRIS Lead/Analyst management.

Your impact

As People Systems Lead, your role will be critical in providing focus and HR system expertise to up-leveling processes, systems, data management, and compliance. The People Systems Lead will be a key team member in supporting Grammarly’s migration to a new HR system.

You will have global responsibilities and support the People, WXP, Finance, IT, and GRC teams in North America as well as Ukraine, providing exposure to international HR processes. You’ll also have an opportunity to shape our People strategies as we grow.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in a new HRIS migration, which involves collaborating on the migration plan for the People Operations Team, collaborating with the IT, GRC, WXP, Finance, Legal, and Security teams to ensure all critical processes are captured and will be migrated.
  • Analyze existing processes, policies, and systems and review process design in the current HRIS.
  • Document process design in the current HRIS and make proposals for the process migration to the new HRIS to support Grammarly’s high growth.
  • Create a project plan and collaborate with key stakeholders for the integrations for the new HRIS.
  • Own migration to new HRIS, including performing testing of all major processes on migrated data.
  • Work on process redesign (e.g., transfer to a new role/function) if necessary to be able to run it on the new HRIS, which includes process documentation.
  • Identify areas for automation and implement processes that will require minimal manual work.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is comfortable working with data, acquiring data from multiple sources, data analysis, and communicating data findings.
  • Identifies and creates processes to get the work done, uses the first-principles approach, and optimizes efficient workflows and automation.
  • Can analyze, implement, and improve the HRIS system and identify opportunities for automation and self-service to reduce manual work for other functions.
  • Can identify opportunities for integrations to support security, compliance, and smooth data flow.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and the skillset to lead a complex project for a big group of people with many moving pieces.
  • Has experience in Workday administration and implementation.
  • Has experience as system admin for HRIS and HR process systems and HRIS workflow design and implementation.
  • Has experience in systems testing and production rollouts: Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing, and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches; and collaborates with functional and technical teams to coordinate the application of upgrades or fixes.
  • Has experience designing processes, workflows, and data management to meet compliance requirements.
  • Has experience in conducting training, including developing user procedures, guidelines, and documentation; training team members on new processes/functionality; and training new system users.

We also take time to celebrate our colleagues and accomplishments with global, local, and team-specific events and programs.

We also offer support to set up a home office, ample and defined time off, gym and recreation stipends, 401(k) matching, and more.
  • For Colorado-based employment: The salary range for this position is $104,000 –- $208,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

Please note that Grammarly’s COVID-19 vaccination policy requires that all team members in North America be vaccinated against COVID-19 to meet in person for Grammarly business or to work from a North America hub location. It is expected that this will be a requirement for this role. Qualified candidates in North America who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons or because of a sincerely held religious belief may request a reasonable accommodation to this policy. For Ukraine, this policy requires team members to be vaccinated or produce a daily negative COVID-19 test administered at the Kyiv hub to work from the hub or attend in-person meetings.

An Insider's view of Grammarly

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Our values actually represent our team. Discussions about ethical decision-making or tweeting empathetically are common at Grammarly, and I recognize how rare that is.

Celeste

Senior Content Strategy Manager

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

We resolve our problems with constructive discussions that are only made possible by the level of empathy and listening skills that team members have here. It makes me happy to know I work with such exceptional people.

Maryna

Engineering Manager

What is your vision for the company?

Writing helps us all achieve personal, professional, and academic success, but effective communication requires talent and time. It can be very challenging, and we may not always be able to effectively express our meaning, convey our intent, and be fully understood—creating a gap with our audience. We’re building Grammarly to close this gap.

Brad

CEO

What projects are you most excited about?

I always feel pumped when I see the positive feedback we get from our users. To know that your work is helping people discover a product that meaningfully improves their lives—it never gets old.

Shanik
