About Cleo

Most people come to Cleo to do work that matters. Every day, we fight for the world’s financial health, building a beloved AI that empowers people to make better financial decisions.

Backed by some of the most well-known investors in tech, we’ve reached over 4 million users and plan to double that number each year...which is where you come in.

We’re hiring for a People Partner at Cleo. You’ll work closely with our Senior People Partner and VP of People to help us continue to make Cleo a place where people thrive and do their best work.

Why should I apply?

You’ll report directly to our Senior People Partner. We have a supportive People Ops team, some processes, systems and tools in place (hibob, Notion, Progression to name a few!), and you’ll have the opportunity to help shape your role and experiment with new ideas and ways of working.

We pride ourselves on having a proactive People function - and one that doesn’t stick with the status quo. We challenge the norms around  what a People team should be so bring your weird ideas and we welcome applicants from non-traditional HR backgrounds.

We have exciting plans for 2022 - we’re looking to grow hugely this year so this has potential to become a career-defining role, with plenty of room for progression. Our ability to retain, develop and support our high-performers has a direct impact on the future success of Cleo.

The role

As a People Partner at Cleo, you'll empower our people managers  - you will be their go to contact for all HR queries and  help them solve their people challenges.

You’ll be a true Cleo culture ambassador; embodying our 3 core values in your behaviours and all the work you do.
You’ll take a continuous improvement mind-set to our People practices and policies, all while keeping the Cleo flexible, fun and open culture in mind.

This means:

  • Coaching - Working in a collaborative way with our teams and leaders to ensure we are operating in line with our values and giving a consistent and fair employee experience
  • Performance management - collaborate with our People Ops team and managers on our bi-annual performance reviews process ensuring we develop a culture of continuous feedback and high performance
  • Employee Relations - manage employee relations cases to conclusion in collaboration with our Senior People Partner, VP of People and People Operations team
  • Employee experience - work closely with our Senior Employee Engagement manager on key engagement initiatives and DEI, you’ll also work with our Workplace Experience Manager and People Ops team to iterate and improve all our people processes from onboarding to the leavers process
  • Collaborate with the wider People & Talent team; make sure everyone on the team is in the loop when it comes to important people changes across the business; leavers, team changes etc
  • Data - help build and influence people-related solutions by leveraging people trends, insights, and data to drive the implementation of projects and programs
  • Learning & Development - support on delivering company wide management and feedback training, work with managers to plan key L&D initiatives for their specific teams e.g SQL training
  • Reward & benefits - work with People Ops to ensure our reward and benefits offering continues to be attractive across all geographies. Own our Progression leveling frameworks and work with managers to iterate and build on the career pathways we have for each discipline.

Apply If

  • You have worked in a People role (or similar) in a high-growth environment and can prioritise in a fast-paced, delivery-focused culture - shifting focus and changing priorities doesn’t worry you at all
  • You are practical, creative and commercial in how you approach people related challenges; balancing the needs of Cleo with the needs of our wonderful people
  • You’ve had your fair share of experience in areas such as organisational design, employee relations, succession planning and talent development
  • You are great at building strong partnerships with everyone you work with and coaching people managers; taking the time to understand their challenges and needs to ensure that your solutions solve the right problems
  • You are not afraid to try out new ideas and challenge the status quo (we’re by no means perfect!)
  • You recognise the importance of a strong feedback culture and always look to improve and learn from failings
  • You regularly use data to drive key decisions and when the data is missing, you are pragmatic and logical in your approach to resolving a challenge or making a decision

What do you get for all your hard work?

  • An above market compensation package (Base + Equity). We're prepared to pay for the very best. You can view our progression framework and salary bandings here: https://cleo-ai.progressionapp.com/ - this position is a BP3 level and we can pay £54,982 - £70,020

  • We treat you as humans first, employees second. Because we can’t fight for the world’s financial health, if we’re not healthy ourselves. This means the usual perks but it also means flexibility.

    • And many more!

UK App access: The Cleo app is no longer downloadable in the UK (but only until next year). If you’re an existing user, you’ll still have access to the app. But some features won’t be available (just for a little while). Why? 99% of our users are based in the US – where financial health is often overlooked. We’ve decided to shift our focus to where we can provide the most value and make the greatest impact for users who need it most. Then we’ll be able to apply what we learn to better support our UK users in the future. Check out this page for more information.
