THE ROLE
We are looking for a temporary People Ops Specialist with outstanding analytical and communication skills. The People Ops Specialist is expected to be an innovative thinker with fantastic organizational and problem-solving skills. The individual will need to have the ability to multitask and prioritize competing workstreams.
The People Ops Specialist will assist with administering various employee benefit programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accidental and disability, life insurance, 401(k), wellness benefits, etc.
To ensure success, the People Ops Specialist should exhibit strong administrative and analytical skills with a broad understanding of various areas of HR and the importance of communication and processes in all areas of HR. Top candidates must be comfortable with ambiguity, working in a fast-paced and scaling work environment. They will be expected to work collaboratively and independently on tasks and projects as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of our health benefits program including ensuring compliance, answering employee’s benefit inquiries, and supporting with benefits enrollment and elections
- Serve as liaison with carriers and brokers to quickly troubleshoot issues within the benefit election platform
- Support with completing respective file uploads into carrier’s to include all carrier census files and accurately report benefit deductions to the Payroll team
- Partner with appropriate stakeholders to process employment changes in HRIS including employee personal information, system configurations, reporting, and data transfer into HRIS
- Facilitate our current programs and perks while constantly thinking of ways to improve them and researching additional programs/perks we can introduce to help enhance the employee experience
- Work with Payroll to confirm accuracy in payroll activities for the HQ teams, taking into account employment changes impacting current pay periods
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact, discretion, and diplomacy
- In partnership with HR Leaders support and manage employment-related issues that include employee relations investigations, workers compensation, OSHA Reporting, ADA Interactive Process, and Leave Management compliance
- Support with all HQ Onboarding and Offboarding processes
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 1+ years of HR experience with an emphasis in benefits administration
- A combination of HR experience in the following areas: Immigration, I-9 Compliance, Employee Relations, HRIS Support (Ceridian Dayforce a plus), Leaves Management
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Excel (vlookups, if function, pivot tables, etc..)
- Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and provide clarity
- Possess “no task is too big or small" mentality
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, constantly changing start-up environment
- Familiar with Google Suite programs
- Start-up experience preferred
