Overview

The Mixbook People team is no ordinary People team. We lead with our core values and make decisions through the lens of our mission: to empower creativity and deepen human connection. We dream of operating more like a Product team than “traditional HR”, using human-centered practices to continuously test, learn, and iterate. We are obsessed with talking about the #futureofwork and want to help pave the way as a leader for what a healthy organization looks like.

The People Operations Director role is a brand new addition to Mixbook! In this role, you’ll be responsible for directly managing People Operations functions (compliance, employee relations, and benefits administration) while also being a partner to our Director of Culture & Growth, Kim Colucci, in nurturing and developing our long-term People strategy. You can get to know more about the strategic People function at Mixbook by checking out some of Kim’s content below.

Travel generally includes quarterly trips to and from our HQ in the USA (San Francisco Bay Area) or Moldova (Chisinau). However, additional travel times and locations may be required based on Company needs.

The Mixbook People team serves employees around the globe - we cover 16+ time zones! We require enough overlap team-wide to ensure healthy cross-functional partnerships.

  • Continuously seek out ways to drive improvements, bringing both the voice of employee and industry best practices together to guide decisions
  • Lead our Total Rewards strategy, including our annual compensation reviews and benchmarking
  • Lead with outcomes in mind, such as improved eNPS or stronger survey results, as a result of the work performed

What You’ll Need

  • 8+ years experience in a Human Resources or People Operations role
  • Experience owning a People / HR function for a scaling start-up
  • Demonstrated experience creating policies and processes in a global, remote environment
  • Expert business acumen and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including California, in order to build and lead compliant practices
  • Strong situational adaptability in both written and verbal communication
  • A love for building (while doing!)
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to make decisions quickly in a confidential, organized, and detailed manner
  • A curious mind with a love of continual learning
  • Desire to work in a fast and dynamic, people-first environment
