The People Operations Director role is a brand new addition to Mixbook! In this role, you’ll be responsible for directly managing People Operations functions (compliance, employee relations, and benefits administration) while also being a partner to our Director of Culture & Growth, Kim Colucci, in nurturing and developing our long-term People strategy. Job Description
As People Operations Director, you will be a driver of all things essential to the well-being of Mixbookers globally while maintaining HR-compliant practices. You will lead in both tactical and strategic initiatives (such as managing our employee data or developing a performance management system) which will require strong communication and organizational skills, situational adaptability, and a natural ability to lead with empathy.
While this is a new role at Mixbook, we expect the People Ops Manager to spend 40% building scalable processes, 30% crafting new ideas, and 30% implementing or executing on our vision.
Location
This is a fully-remote position that may be based anywhere in the United States with the ability and desire to travel. Travel generally includes quarterly trips to and from our HQ in the USA (San Francisco Bay Area) or Moldova (Chisinau). However, additional travel times and locations may be required based on Company needs.
The Mixbook People team serves employees around the globe - we cover 16+ time zones! We require enough overlap team-wide to ensure healthy cross-functional partnerships.
What You’ll Do
- Build systems and programs that raise the bar on the Mixbook culture, championing our approach to organizational health to create a place where employees thrive
- Drive the vision of our employee lifecycle and work with the Head of Organizational Effectiveness on building the long-term roadmap
- Manage all People Ops workflows, documentation, data, and tools
- Continuously seek out ways to drive improvements, bringing both the voice of employee and industry best practices together to guide decisions
- Lead our Total Rewards strategy, including our annual compensation reviews and benchmarking
- Lead with outcomes in mind, such as improved eNPS or stronger survey results, as a result of the work performed
What You’ll Need
- 8+ years experience in a Human Resources or People Operations role
- Experience owning a People / HR function for a scaling start-up
- Demonstrated experience creating policies and processes in a global, remote environment
- Expert business acumen and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including California, in order to build and lead compliant practices
- Strong situational adaptability in both written and verbal communication
- A love for building (while doing!)
- Excellent judgment with the ability to make decisions quickly in a confidential, organized, and detailed manner
- A curious mind with a love of continual learning
- Desire to work in a fast and dynamic, people-first environment
