What You’ll Bring to The Team

At Florence we’re passionate about making it easy for our customers to contribute to research and find cures. The People Operations Business Partner (POBP) plays an essential role in maintaining and evolving our people operations machine while optimizing for process. The role is operational in nature, responsible for daily support to our employees while implementing, utilizing, and elevating processes as well as programs that support the growth of Florence. Able to shift gears quickly, this role is personable, dynamic, analytical, and results oriented. The People Operations Business Partner enjoys a relentless pursuit of white glove employee service, process efficiency, scaling and automation. The People Operations Business Partner reports to the Director of People & Culture.

As a POBP, you will:

  • Oversee key people processes and transactions including: new hire on-boarding, off-boarding, benefits administration, payroll, performance management, immigration matters, employee relations, and additional efforts related to the employee experience
  • Serve as a strategic business partner in supporting the business as it relates to our people, team leaders, culture and organizational effectiveness
  • Continually strive to improve our people processes and programs to enhance operational efficiencies to better streamline productivity and scalability
  • Own and maintain people data across HR systems, capturing all status changes in an employee lifecycle and ensuring all data entry has an audit point to preserve data integrity
  • Develop and support health, wellness and engagement initiatives, and other rewards and recognition programs that are competitive and comprehensive
  • Support learning and development programs to prepare employees for more significant responsibilities as the company grows 
  • Ensure cultural consistency as Florence grows, help build infrastructure and communications to manage through change
  • Project manage the design, development, and implementation of various employee engagement and performance programs and initiatives.
  • Be thoughtful, strategic, and skilled in managing processes and human interactions – while still acting without delay.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, as needed by the team.

 

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • 4+ years of comprehensive people operations experience ranging from employee relations, performance management, benefit administration, on/off-boarding and more.
  • Track record of extraordinary employee service including effective communication, with an ability to build partnerships while establishing credibility at all levels
  • Have a healthy obsession about the employee experience. You are self-aware, well-spoken on the phone and eloquent in emails. You’re thoughtful of the employee while also aware of time sensitive business operations.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and able to proactively identify opportunities to contribute to the team’s success
  • Strong relationship management skills; ability to coach and mentor employees and people leaders
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow
  • Superior organization skills with a high level of integrity as well as personal accountability
  • Comfortable in a demanding environment with high expectations around the quality of work
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects, demonstrated by previous experience coordinating deadlines, deliverables, and shifting priorities
  • Naturally curious – you’re innovative, extremely creative and constantly looking for ways to improve upon things.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Human Resources, Communication, or Psychology
