Jellyvision’s headquarters is in Chicago, and, post-COVID, many of us will be returning to the Chicago offices (by choice, not requirement -- our philosophy is “Flexible First”). But this position is also eligible for work by a remote employee out of CA, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MI, MN, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, TX, UT, WA, or WI.

How you’ll help
We’re looking for a People Operations Associate to join our People team. The People Operations Associate is a critical role on the team overseeing all aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding, acting as the functional and technical expert for all People-related systems, and ownership of employee record maintenance, reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will have experience with HRIS systems, running reports, and is spreadsheet savvy. This person will also be passionate about operational excellence and motivated by opportunities to continually improve our systems and processes to be more scalable and efficient. This person should be skilled in leveraging data to tell stories to help the team and leaders throughout the company make strategic, intentional decisions.
What you’ll do
- Act as system administrator for all People-related systems - HRIS, ATS, LMS, etc.
- Provide thought partnership to our internal stakeholders (compensation, compliance, payroll, IT, recruiting, benefits) to solve systems or process related challenges.
- Initiate and monitor new employee onboarding process, including coordination of new hire set up, hosting Orientation, and administering new hire recruiting and onboarding surveys; identify opportunities for improvement and automation and implement those changes.
- Administer new hire 30/90 day reviews and quarterly performance reviews.
- Proactively and consistently identify areas of improvement and automation opportunities.
- Communicate recommendations on initiatives and influence stakeholders through analysis and thoughtful interpretation data.
- Execute termination process, including managing exit communications, processing terminations, and initiating system access removal.
- Complete data entry of new hires, promotions, manager changes, transfers, and terminations into our HRIS system. Ensure all employee data changes are entered timely and accurately and appropriate internal departments are notified as necessary.
- Initiate and monitor background checks.
- Generate various recruiting and HR reports as needed.
Experience & skills you’ll need
- 3+ years experience in an HR/People Ops position
- Self starter with a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a high volume of concurrent tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
- The ability to clearly and concisely storytell with data, relaying information and recommendations in an easily digestible format
- Proactive thought leader who can automate and streamline processes to allow for efficient company and team growth
- Tenacious problem solver who leads with solutions
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience building cross-functional relationships across an organization
- High level of customer focus, which includes attentive listening, patience, and empathy
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or G-Suite applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar), familiarity with Confluence and Jira a plus
