People Generalist (Hybrid)

We are searching for a People Generalist to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President, People, you will manage a variety of HR tasks for the Operations or Servicing teams in our Irving office. Please note: This is a hybrid role, meaning that you will need to work in our Irving office on a regular cadence, to be determined with your manager.
Specifically, you will:
- Handle employee relations issues classified as low to moderate in complexity including benefits/leave administration, and payroll.
- Implement and administer company policies/Employee Handbook and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Manage the I-9 and employee verification processes and conducts new hire orientation along with Day 1 Onboarding.
- Coordinate leaves of absence programs and interfaces with carriers and employees as needed.
- Deliver employee/manager training deemed relevant and necessary for Irving site employees.
- Stay current with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
- Support the People Department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3-5 years’ experience in People Operations to include work with recruiting, policies and procedures, leave administration, employee relations
- An understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills along with a customer-focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and nimble business environment
- Expertise with MS Office Suite or Google G Suite
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and, above all, a strong sense of humor
- Bachelor’s degree of equivalent experience; PHR certification a plus.
