WSP is currently initiating a search for a Manager, Talent Development. This position may be located in any WSP USA office or may be remote.

Your Impact

As a Manager, Talent Development, you will be part of the US Talent Development team and will contribute to a variety of initiatives and programs, working with key stakeholders and business partners to bring the US People & Culture strategy to life. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, pilot, delivery, and evaluation of innovative TD initiatives and programs for employee development, leadership development, and/or performance management.
  • Provide ongoing leadership of one or more programs, including developing new solutions and maintaining or overseeing maintenance of existing content.
  • Contribute to defining and executing TD strategies in collaboration with People & Culture leadership, business partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the change management of new and evolving initiatives to ensure buy-in, readiness, and implementation across all stakeholder groups.
  • Develop strong collaborative partnerships with the People & Culture team and other key stakeholders, and promote Talent Development initiatives, processes, and principles to enhance employee engagement and development.
  • Identify and evaluate employee development needs; prioritize program development based on alignment with strategic plan and business needs.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training programs for employees at all levels, tailoring communication style and presence to meet audience needs.
  • Stay current with best practices, emergent technologies, and innovative methods in the learning industry.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures


Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 7 years of progressive experience in training/talent development.
  • Proven ability to both develop and execute on strategy with a "roll up your sleeves" approach to your work.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills (collaborating, listening, coaching, negotiating, educating, facilitating, influencing).
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge across a broad range of talent development competency areas: leadership assessment/development; performance consulting; change management; organizational effectiveness; program development
  • Strong learning approach and development mindset with desire to educate, coach and mentor others.
  • Outstanding time management and project management skills, with ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and adapt to change.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate needs, issues, and risks and take appropriate action(s).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating a variety of learning experiences through various platforms: in-person classroom events, live virtual, video.
  • Certification by Hogan Assessments, DDI, and/or DiSC. Other industry certifications an asset (CPTD, SHRM, etc).
  • Experience with administering and debriefing behavioral, competency, and personality assessments strongly preferred (360s, talent and psychometric assessments, etc).
  • Proficiency and experience with Articulate 360.
