The Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL Medical Corporation develops products to protect and manage cardiac patients, including the LifeVest® wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), the ZOLL cardiac monitor, and associated technologies.

Job purpose

The Talent Manager is responsible for partnering with the HR and business leadership teams to help design and execute the global Learning and Development programs for ZOLL's Cardiac Management Solutions Division. This role will support our businesses growth by successfully training, coaching and developing our current and future leaders, identify and assess external programs through vendor partnerships, and create career progression and pathway opportunities throughout the division.

The Manager will work collaboratively with HR and key business leaders across ZOLL's Cardiac Management Solutions division as well as with peers across ZOLL divisions and corporate office.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership to the Talent Development function and employees on the development team.
  • Establish a vision and plan for the division's talent strategy and drive the implementation of ZOLL's talent strategy. Help identify and develop the potential of ZOLL's talent and ensure the organization is executing towards its development and succession plans.
  • Design and influence a full suite of development experiences to strengthen business and individual capability and performance for identified top talent. Serve as an internal consultant on talent and development projects including possible rotational assignments or mentoring relationships.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and set an example as a proactive talent leader. Earn respect by demonstrating a sound understanding of business objectives and goals and expertise in the talent and development domain. Coach and influence senior leadership on their active engagement in talent planning and development processes.
  • Manage various projects and work collaboratively with colleagues across the HR team.
  • Manage existing and establish new global programs to reinforce strong performance and potential and support our Learning & Development initiatives, including development of programs and content to help support our employees and managers in many aspects of job performance and professional skills.
  • Identify content and deliver local programming for new and experienced people leaders to provide them with management fundamentals.
  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and development efforts.
  • Identify, oversee and assess the effectiveness of vendor relationships to ensure programs and services meet ZOLL's needs and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 8+ years' experience in talent development or related HR function
  • Previous management experience
  • Strong skills and experience in managing talent initiatives, internal consulting, and facilitation.
  • Highly influential, engaging and persuasive. Experience delivering results through influence and collaboration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to listen well and connect credibly at all levels.
  • Instructional design, curriculum development and facilitation experience.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to both think strategically and translate strategy to tactical plans and drive implementation.
  • Credible HR professional who can interface with senior leaders; has successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships and being a trusted advisor at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to synthesize data to identify themes and create solutions to address those issues.
  • Project management skills, organization skills, and strong time management skills are required to support ability to handle multiple key projects at a time.

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet. Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision. Work will require significant computer and telephone work.

Occasional travel required.

Supervisory responsibility

Directly supervises employees within the Human Resources department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
