A Brief Summary of This Position:

You will serve as a subject matter expert in talent acquisition processes. The Manager will design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art recruitment and talent acquisition strategies and programs that will identify, attract, engage, assess, hire, and retain the talent needed to support Valmont's workforce needs. The manager will oversee the development of effective recruiting processes to attract and engage candidates, while developing a diverse and inclusive workforce to support our business initiatives. This person will also develop and implement compelling strategies and programs designed to increase organizational awareness and support of our talent acquisition methodology.

Essential Functions:

  • Train, develop and lead a team of recruiters to meet hiring and pipeline development strategies
  • Develop and execute recruitment programs and strategies to fill openings and build pipelines of qualified candidates
  • Identify and execute process improvements and best practices to promote our talent strategy
  • Be the domain expert in talent acquisition strategy for stakeholders and team members
  • Champion our values and culture; demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for our roles
  • Proactively plan for cyclical hiring needs
  • Build solid relationships to serve as an advisor and partner during the entire recruitment lifecycle process
  • Act as a liaison between our organization and employment agencies
  • Leverage community partnerships and networks to passively source for talent pipelines
  • Coordinate interviews, debriefs and pre-employment processes throughout all stages of the hiring process for both candidates and hiring managers
  • Complete monthly reporting metrics on team activity
  • This role requires up to 10% travel, including overnight stays
  • Hybrid schedule, however must be able to work in the office 3 days per week



Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelors with 6+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability in team building and employee engagement
  • Ability to guide and influence individuals, both internally and externally, throughout the recruitment cycle
  • Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner at community, college, university, and other recruitment events
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends to facilitate recruitment events
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal



Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required
  • Experience recruiting in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting a global operation
  • Proven knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance
  • Experience leading a team of recruiters



Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
