Job purpose

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for supporting the management and employees of designated ZOLL departments in relation to recruiting/staffing, performance management, employee relations, wage and salary administration, benefits and general employment matters. This role will act as a liaison between employees and management as needed to resolve concerns that arise in the workplace. The Human Resource Manager will work with other teams within the HR Department in support of their assigned departments.

Duties and responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager is an integral member of the Human Resources Department and has primary responsibility for managing the employment processes and employee relations.
  • Provides consultative support to ZOLL Cardiac Management Solutions (CMS) employees and management in relation to recruitment/staffing, performance management, employee relations, benefits, wage and salary administration and general employment matters.
  • Consults with management regarding performance management of employees, the need for coaching and counseling and progressive disciplinary actions.
  • Partners with management team to assist with understanding and applying HR tools to maximize employee performance and to achieve organizational effectiveness and legal compliance.
  • Conducts confidential investigation into employee or management concerns and complaints.
  • Reviews policies and procedures recommending adjustments/modifications as needed.
  • Supervises talent acquisition function and dedicated HR staff to support the talent acquisition needs of the supported departments.
  • Engages with departmental leadership and talent acquisition team to determine proper sourcing strategies to ensure talent needs are being met.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for questions and issues surrounding leaves of absence including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, personal leaves.
  • Serves as a point of contact for information on 401(k) plan, benefits issues and paid time off programs.
  • Consults with leadership and legal counsel as necessary.
  • Partners with Training & Development team to identify training opportunities and ensure that adequate training is available to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Reviews management recommendations for termination and makes recommendation to Director of Human Resources on approval or alternatives.
  • Assists in the administration of the annual merit process including all bonus programs and tracking needed.
  • Working with the HRIS Specialist, completes annual, monthly and ad hoc reports and requests for HR related data. This includes the completion of regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Participates in local salary and benefit surveys including review and analysis of results. Highlights to management opportunities for change based on analysis.
  • Participates in compensation benchmarking to ensure competitive pay practices of the organization.
  • Responsible for the employee exit process including COBRA notification, conducting and analyzing exit interview data and making recommendations based on data collected.
  • Assists with Workers Compensation reporting and Unemployment Compensation reporting/hearings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience or 10+ years of demonstrated Human Resources experience
  • Success in areas of employee relations, recruiting/staffing, performance management and compensation.
  • SPHR/PHR/SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and draw conclusions based on information presented
  • Experience working with HCM software. Use of Epicor HCM/Taleo a plus
  • Ability to present information to large and small groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Supervisory responsibility

Supervises directly and/or indirectly talent acquisition staff assigned to supported departments. Provides guidance and direction to less senior members of the Human Resources department and to staff and managers of the organization.
