We are looking for a Learning Development Specialist to join the Carrier Transicold Truck Trailer Americas team in Athens, GA. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in adult learning and instructional design strategies, can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. The individual should be technically strong and have significant experience with technical subject matter, be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with multiple stakeholders.

This individual will provide standards and produce training materials for all aspects of troubleshooting and repair of transport refrigeration units (TRUs), auxiliary power units (APUs), and all associated product technologies . T his role will also be critical in benchmarking new training opportunities to support and streamline the digital transformation initiative.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop instructional materials that transform technical information into engaging instructional materials.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), and other key stakeholders to determine effective technical training solutions and address development needs
  • Create, maintain and facilitate engaging training assets, including presentations, microvideos, job aides, and how-to processes
  • Develops metrics to assess the effectiveness of training solutions, measures result and proposes action plans for continuous improvement
  • Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (usually from face-to-face to eLearning or virtual settings)
  • Participate as needed with Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including course uploading, testing and reporting
  • Help manage the annual course scheduling process, ensuring class details are available online.
  • Support the development of technical publications to help produce high-quality, custom documentation
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends in technical training and look for opportunities to leverage technology within the curriculum.



Experience:

  • Minimum five years' experience in communicating technical concepts and processes using clear, simple language and visuals
  • A strong technical aptitude and knowledge of transport refrigeration systems and application practices preferred.
  • Must have an aesthetic aptitude for content development/design.
  • Adept in using technology and facilitation techniques to engage learners.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Experience using course development software applications including, but not limited to, Articulate, Camtasia and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation, planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with LMS architecture and deployment within a corporate learning environment



  • Proven ability to independently manage projects from inception to completion independently and with a team, as well as demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects with quick deadlines.
  • Candidate must have a passion for leveraging technology to streamline processes and is able to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.



Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or similar field required
