As an integral member of our training and development team, you will work on a broad range of engaging projects – from designing and building innovative learning experiences to implementing various projects. The primary focus of a Learning & Development Lead is to consult and collaborate with business partners throughout the organization to define learning needs, building engaging and effective learning experiences and foster team growth. The lead will provide oversite and support to the Learning and Developmen team under the direction of the Training and Development Manager.
What you'll do
- Oversee learning needs assessments and gap analysis to overcome learning challenges
- Advance collaboration, partnerships and relationships among learning project participants
- Motivates and mentors team members and direct reports for self development
- Design, develop and review traditional, nontraditional, interactive and multimedia learning solutions
- Define and sequence instructional content and strategies to optimize learning experiences
- Evolve a strong working relationships with business partners and subject matter experts to maintain content accuracy in existing learning content
- Researches learning and development industry standards for possible implementation
- Evaluate and improve existing instruction in various touchpoints and determine future needs
- Evaluates learning objectives and design solutions
- Access the success of development plans and help employees and partners make the most of learning opportunities
- Development of standard operating procedures and implementation
- Project executions and management
- Constructing and evaluation of metrics and ROIs.
- Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules
- Be flexible
- Expected to work 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required
- Occasional travel may be required (less than 5% of time)
Skills you'll need
- Professional experience in Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Multimedia Production, UI Design or combination of the above
- Mastery of adult learning theory and trends in eLearning
- Working knowledge of tools and techniques for developing learning solutions — from LMS solutions to design solutions to media production tools
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to critically think
- Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Ability to change tasks and direction quickly and effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Builds and maintains relationships with partners easily
- Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic self-starter with initiative and creative approach to problem-solving
- Strong ability to embrace change with a good sense of humor
Other skills we'd like
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (instructional design, organizational development, adult education) or equivalent work experience
- Preferred experience with the following tools: Elucidat, Camtasia, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Suite, and Google Suite. Experience with other content development tools such as Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate acceptable.
- Experience with the management of content in a learning management systems
- Experience in an Agile development environment
- Strong sense of design and enthusiasm for design thinking
Working conditions
This is an in-market role and candidates must be based locally or be willing to relocate to Portland, OR to be considered.
You’ll be working in your home office setting. We hold virtual training sessions and weekly team meeting. Occasional offsite team meetings in your region or our HQ locations. Requires frequent, repetitive use of a computer, phone, and office equipment. Requires patient, professional communication with prospective clients, and the ability to build confidence with prospects.
Compensation
- $80,000 - $85,000 DOE
